After a few months of “intensive beta testing and refinements,” SlingMedia announced the release SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS. The program officially supports the 3G-capable Treo 755p and 700p, although the company encourages folks on other Palm platforms to take advantage of the free 30 day trial as well.

In addition to squashing bugs during beta testing, SlingMedia added a few new features based on customer feedback:

  • Battery level indicator

  • Remote control button placement optimized for DVR usage
  • Ability to add any remote control functions as Favorites shortcuts

SlingPlayer Mobile for Palm OS is available the US and Canada for a one-time fee of $29.99 USD and $34.99 CAD.

  1. In order for this to work on the Treo 650 you have to turn off Bluetooth.

Works great if you do, freezes if you don’t.

  2. where do I get the codes IDs or the IP adresses from??

  4. From the settings in your Slingbox when you set it up.

  5. Loaded on my 650 …video is choppy as expected, good at most times. The one thing that it might be worth keeping is to ensure I can always save myself when I forget to set the DVR to record something or I can’t get back home to watch something I thought I might be able to see. I’ll see how things go for a while …
