Pocket Tunes Updated to 3.1

Normsoft released an update to its popular Pocket Tunes media player yesterday. The Deluxe version is now more Treo friendly than ever, although according to the fine print, the newest features are only Treo 650 friendly, and may not work on the 600. These features come in the form of being able to purchase music directly from your Treo. Music stores that have been tested so far include Napster, Real Rhapsody, and Yahoo! Music Engine. Pocket Tunes supports both purchased and subscription content.

Despite other entries to the handheld media arena, Pocket Tunes remains the only one that can stream internet music. Pocket Tunes supports most standard music media files including .wav, .mp3, and ogg vorbis. The Deluxe version also supports .wma music files, although WMA Losless and WMA Professional formats are still not supported.

Pocket Tunes has a wide variety of skins to choose from, including some really nice looking freebies. If you haven’t been using Pocket Tunes, now would be a great time to start.
