Do you hate voicemail? Our friends at SimulScribe do!

Following on SimulScribe’s massive “VoicemailSucks.com” marketing initiative on taxi cab tops in New York City, the company is giving away 60 days of their PhoneTag service for free to mytreo.net members! The first 25 people to respond to this article will receive a free t-shirt too!

For those who haven’t heard of the company, SimulScribe converts voicemails into text messages or e-mails and sends them to your smartphone. We love their service, which allows you to instantly see on your screen the name of the person who left you a message and what they said, rather than your having to call in to hear them.

The service is great whether you miss a call while sitting in a business meeting or on the road. It’s ideal for noisy environments. Your voicemail functionality does not change; messages can still be listened to and stored for later use. You simply have the option of reading them as well!

  1. Great idea and promo! Love the shirt design too, can’t wait to try this out for myself.

  2. Heheh, that’s an awesome shirt!
I would proudly wear that all over to show how much I hate voicemail.

  3. Oh I cant wait to see this take off…
Voicemail the last refuge of the weak afraid of direct contact

  4. voicemail, who needs voicemail?! this is a great idea, i hope this works…it would be great

  5. I signed up for the original test of SimulScribe when they first came out.

THE CONCEPT AND EXECUTION IS EXCELLENT.

    I highly recommend them.

Just watch out if you’re with Sprint. I got killed by call fwding fees.

Just send an e-mail to PhoneTag in the hopes that they have found a work-around.

  6. Ha! This is brilliant. Especially the way Sprint sucks at informing you of a new voicemail! The concept of leaving voicemails is ridiculous because people call back before even checking them!

  7. Can’t tell how much time I’ve lost hearing voicemail. People didn’t understood that it was easier to contact me by SMS. Had to disable that sh*t.

  8. Very anxious to try this service and the shirt. I think this could be a huge time saver.

  9. Uh, nice shirt — I’m not sure I could wear that at work.

The product concept is good; I hope the execution is just as good. I’ll hafta see how well this works for me.

  10. AWESOME! I hate voicemail too! I saw that you called… I’ll call you back. I didn’t answer because I was busy. Couldn’t you have just sent a text/email instead? You all know that I’m connected and online ALL DAY! I’ll wear that shirt LOUD and PROUD.

  11. Is this how I get one of them shirts? Nice product, just signed up, will check with Sprint on fwding fees… thanks for the heads up, jamesrreed!

  12. Very interesting service, I’m quite eager to check it out. Sweet T-shirt, to boot.

  13. Great idea! I’m eager to try it out.. Can’t wait to wear the t-shirt!

  14. The best thing to happen to the cellphone since bluetooth! Great Job.

  15. I have it on both my Treo and my Blackberry and love it!

  16. I need to check out the software, because VM does indeed SUCK! Awesome shirt.

  17. Very interested in trying this out

  18. Wow, very interesting. VMs suck - they sit for days!

  19. i think this is a great service. i want it, and a tee-shirt.

  20. I’ve been looking for a way to do something like this after I saw it on the iPhone. This just makes my right hand that much more useful.

  21. I too hate voicemail… however… I don’t think I would be caught dead with this shirt! I would wear something a little less offensive though.

  22. darn voicemails - gotta call to listen to them then call back to discuss! why not just do the “to page this person press 5 now” option, or send a txt, or just let the person call you back when they see the missed call.

the best vmails are the really long ones (with way too much info for a vmail), followed by the really short ones (the classic “hey - just calling to say hi - call me back” and other such pointless messages)

looking forward to the service and t-shirt!

    thanks!

  23. Yo! voicemail suck!
Its great that you guys came up with this. its such a hastle to call to check your voicemail, and it just ends up being something useless, like a message with nothing said.
    You guys are great!

  24. im in

  25. I still love Simulscribe!

  26. Anyone get a follow up on the shirt?
I may be paranoid, but its kind of suspect to give out my vm pincode w/o some pre-promised swag in return..

  27. >> Anyone get a follow up on the shirt?

Nothing here either, litldrk1. No t-shirt, no pm, no email, nothing…

    Anyone else?

  28. I posted on 4/30 and never received a shirt. Was this promo for real?

  29. I posted on 4/30 and still haven’t received a shirt. Was this promotion real?
