Free Button Manager for your Treo 600
MicroSECONDS have released Aqua Button Manager, a freeware utility to manage all the button overlay files that are available for the Treo 600.
Typically to install an overlay you have to erase the old one, and then sync over a new one. With Button Manager you store all of your overlay files in a special folder on your SD card (this program requires that you have one), launch Button Manager, and simply select the file that you want to use . There is even a "random" button that selects one for you randomly.
This is a very well written utility that works flawlessly on my Treo 600, allowing me easily to choose from the dozens of fantastic phone skins that have been created by the Treo community! The only qualm I had is that the program being named "Aqua" Button Manager is misleading, since this utility can be used with many overlay files other than the Aqua series. The developer tells me he will rename the application for the next version.
Instructions:
- Make sure that all current button overlay files are removed from your Treo RAM.
- Using Filez or similar, create a directory on your SD card named "Aquabuttons"
- Copy all the button overlay files that you wish to use to the new directoy on your SD card. Ensure that the files remain as ".prc" files.
- Install the "btnmgr.prc" file, and you are ready to go. Just launch the program and pick the button file that you want.
