Special thanks to mytreo.net member 100thMonkey for bringing to our attention that the classic and wildly popular game Dopewars is again being updated for the Palm!  Dopewars is a PalmOS clone of an old DOS game of the same name.  It was originally developed by John Dell and converted to the Palm by Matthew Lee.  Matthew Lee disappeared from discussion forums and ceased responding to e-mails around three years ago.  Very recently the software was updated for the Treo 600 by one of mytreo.net’s newest members, Michael Hallet (user name: Hallem).

Application Description

DopeWars is a game where the objective is to get rich through buying and selling drugs. There are 8 types of drugs and 6 locations; at each location, 5 to 7 drugs will be commodities. At the beginning of the game, you have a small amount of cash, an empty savings account, and a sizeable debt to a loan shark. In addition to money troubles, Officer Hardass patrols the streets, hell-bent on taking you down.

NOTE: You must uninstall/delete DopeWars 2.3 prior to installing version 2.4.1 on the Palm M500/505 and the Treo 600

     * added shotgun option –> if you have a gun you will randomly have a chance to upgrade to a shotgun which kills 2 cops if you hit
