Tried it for a day, it seemed to reset my Treo when ever selecting a background. Also found my Treo reseting more frequently.
Will be trying Facer out again, once my Wireless provider provides their version of the 1.2 patch from Palm. Perhaps the memory management fixes will address some of the reseting isues.
If Facer is the most downloaded launcher of all time then why haven’t I heard of it before?
Plus doesn’t 2Day also have plugins and an application launcher?

Looks to be exactly what I’ve been searching for as a replacement for LauncherX…. that makes it all the more sad that this app is completely unusable. I have yet to see a set of end-user reviews of this app that aren’t full comments along the lines of “great looking, crashes constantly.”
My own experience is that pressing any button inside Facer3 gives about a 30% chance of rebooting my T650. So much potential being wasted… And I don’t understand how MyTreo.net can endorse this product. Did anyone on the staff actually use the program?
Just loaded and looks good, except that using the center scroll key keeps rebooting the phone. Need support on this.

I tried the version 3 also and it jut kept rebooting my Treo 650. Guess it’s back to version 2.7 until they fix something.
It keeps resetting my 650 as well when I first installed it so I ended up hitting the soft reset button beside the battery. It has since become very stable (approx 24 hours now). Changing backgrounds, scrolling etc all works.
So far, I am pretty happy with the app but wish the today screen allows for multi-line entries…
Interesting … I am trying out the trial as we speak. PLUS, I must add, I have the new 1.20 update from Palm, and it seems quite solid for me. Just thought you might like to know.
Reboot City!!!!!!! It’s a nice launcher, but very unstable. I experience more resets than ever with this installed.
After returning my 700w for the 650, I was desperately looking for a “Today” type app, since that’s the only thing I miss from the 700w.
Facer3 seems to be so far pretty good, but I wish its interface was more “stylus-free”. Why can’t I select the calendar and to-do items by the 5-way button and edit them?
No resets for me, but this is a brand new 650, less than a week. Besides some games and TCPMP and Pocket Tunes (which are both stable and well known), I don’t really have any major 3rd party apps here -Facer3 is the first.
Hey Devs, make the interface less stylus-dependant and you’ve got a customer!
Great looking app., however, it is not ready for primetime. It has caused my Treo non-stop headaches (syncing issues). I will think about using this app once the bugs have been killed.
This is HORRIBLE!! consistently crashed after about 2 days. had to hard reset to get it deleted.
Seems like it messed up my “Home” button. Now when I pressed it, it won’t change to other categories on my Treo. Anyone know how I could change it back? Pls.
I used the trial without problems and bought the full version! I ended up getting the full version and it works great! NO rebooting on my treo.
Just to post the other side of it, I’ve been using it with my 650 since this post went up and it has not caused ay resets. I’m on Verizon SW 1.03a.
That’s not to say that the app is perfect, a couple of my suggestions follow:
Allow the Gadgets to be universal, not just for a specific spot, so if I want the Phone Signal gadget, I should be able to put it where I want, not only in the dock.
The Phone Signal gadget only displays if the phone is on or not, I have yet to see it show less than a full signal.
There’s a couple of other minor things. But overall it’s nice looking and I think it works well. I have not tried replacing the background image.

A review that’s an advertisment?? Naw, who could ever imagine that the same site that _sells_ the software would not have a conflict of interest in reviewing the same product. Fortunately with some software you get to try a fully operational sample before you buy
man, enough hyperbole in these product announcements. first callfilter is the best software of all time, now facer is the most downloaded launcher of all time? come on.
I have installed it and it works fine. No crashes/resets at all. Am just wondering how to change/add icons presented on the shortcut bar. There is also no manual available on the website even though that is suggested by some references (or at least I cant find it).
So, very nice/handy application. If anybody has suggestions on how to change the shortcut bar, that would be great.

Dont know why you all that have been having issues have been having them (lest you are using mobiTV, as that is a known issue); but I have been running F3 on a 600, 650 and a T5 with no issues caused by F3. Check out the PC website forums if you have questions that need to be answered.
If only someone would come ujp with a launcher as simple and powerfull as LauncherX.
I installed Facer 3 in the hope that it may fit the bill.
While I did not get the same instability that others have reported I did find it lacking in so many areas and found myself thinking “LauncherX could do this !!”
Very nice looking but not a LauncherX replacement.
My advise, avoid this product until it is updated a few times. It looks great when installed, but will cause your Treo to reset A LOT.
When scrolling through the Daily view, some To-Do/Calendar items cause a reset.
Most apps in the launcher caused a reset
Choosing “Exit Facer” caused a reset.
The ONLY way I could get rid of this program was a hard reset.
This post does reek of paid inclusion….I should have been more suspicious.
Facer3 was constantly rebooting my 650 when I first installed it. Got over it without knowing what caused it. But the problem has returned - and this is right after I synchronized with my Lotus Notes calendar at work via Lotus EasySync. So the two products are likely incompatible…
I’ve have been using facer 3 for the past couple of weeks. I have not had any resets which are complained about inside this forum. I’m using a 650 w/ 1.12 firmware with sprint.
I tried the trial and could not get it to even recognize my card… so I couldn’t launch any apps from my card. I am going to research more.
No problems on two unlocked Treo 650s with the latest EN firmware. However, I wish that when I exited Facer it would let go of the Home button until I launch it from the native launcher (like SilverScreen). Nice and small, freed up about a megabyte over SilverScreen. Out of curiosity why a hard reset to delete it?
I tried and purchased Facer, I am not having any of the rebooting issues other people are having. The only rebooting issue I had was due to MobiTV and I deleted that cause I never use it anymore. All I was looking for was a classy looking launcher that would jazz up my 650, nothing more. I would really use the Today part of it if it had plug ins like that showed text messages, how many I have or whatever, and a plug in with Chatter for my email, and even a simple little Verichat plug in would be cool, so I could see how many people are online and if I got any new messages, those are little things I used to have with the Today screen on my HP 6515 and I know that the 700w has. Also, where are the themes?
