Some common problems and how to resolve them. Feel free to add your own experiences and tips.White Screen of death.
More commonly known as long lag times.
For VerizonWireless and Sprint Treo 700p this has been fixed in the MR
Some people have experienced long wait times while switching between apps or after sending an SMS. If you use VerizonWireless or Sprint, follow the link above!
Bluetooth Pairing Fails
For VerizonWireless and Sprint Treo 700p the MR (Maintenance Release) attempted to improve this situation, but many users are still experiencing pairing failures.
When Blue Tooth (BT) pairing fails or disconnects, the Treo's BT icons may indicate that that the Treo is in BT mode. At times the headset is capable of answering, redialing, disconnecting or putting the call on and off hold, but the sound doesn't transmit to the headset. If you are experiencing this issue, there is no known fix that is completely reliable.
Some users have been able to work around this issue by
- Performing a soft reset of their Treo
- Turning their BT headset off and on again
- Re-Pairing their headset.
- Keeping their headsets fully charged.
Touchscreen Stops Working
If the touch screen for your Treo 650 stopped working, the most likely cause is dirt, dust, or sand that is caught around the edges of your Treo under the gray plastic rim. The dirt is being pressed upon by the plastic rim, and the touch screen thinks that it is being "pressed" so it won't respond to your presses. To find where around the edges the problematic dirt particles are located, try running a doodle program like Diddlebug, and make a mark in the middle of the screen. (It helps to shine a flashlight under the rim to illuminate the area) If one of the edges is being pressed, Diddlebug will draw a line right to the area of pressure, showing you where the offending dirt particle is. Next, take a business card, and run it under it all around the perimeter of the edges, gently using the corner to remove all of the dirt from under the plastic edge. Once all of the dirt is removed, your screen should work again.
