My T650 GSM UNBRANDED UNLOCKED has the same problem...but its easy to fix...for those of you who had a T600 with the buzz issue, you will remember my cig paper fix...well this one uses a bit of the cardboard from ...yep a ciggie box...cut a piece of thin card the same shape as your SIM card insert this behind the SIM in the holder then place the whole thing back into the phone ........
Solution: Raise your max message size to accommodate the size of the message in your account. Yes, that's right. If Versamail finds a message larger than the maximum size you've set in the account settings, does it skip the message, download just the headers, or warn you? Naw... it just hangs there until timeout. Now that's sensible!!

Touchscreen Stops Working

If the touch screen for your Treo 650 stopped working, the most likely cause is dirt, dust, or sand that is caught around the edges of your Treo under the grey plastic rim. The dirt is being pressed upon by the plastic rim, and the touch screen thinks that it is being "pressed" so it won't respond to your presses. To find where around the edges the problematic dirt particles are located, try running a doodle program like Diddlebug, and make a mark in the middle of the screen. (It helps to shine a flashlight under the rim to illuminate the area) If one of the edges is being pressed, Diddlebug will draw a line right to the area of pressure, showing you where the offending dirt particle is. Next, take a business card, and run it under it all around the perimeter of the edges, gently using the corner to remove all of the dirt from under the plastic edge. Once all of the dirt is removed, your screen should work again.

Support at 1-877-426-3777 confirmed that the system error report “HALRadioAcDc.c,Line:441,Host wake not asserted in time" – is a hardware issue and requires an exchange of the unit. This is a disturbingly common problem with the first batch of GSM Treo 650s.

SMS Reboots Phone

If you receive an SMS message and try to delete it before acknowledging the alert (ie the * is still flashing at top) there is a 50/50 chance of the Palm rebooting. If you delete half a dozen or so while it is flashing, you will always reboot the phone. Obvious bug, but palmOne evidently can't confirm its existence. Complain to them about this.

Does your phone power off randomly or when you touch the top (not the Treo, but the phone)? I was fighting this for some time, until NeoBackup posted a fix for this:

IMAP mail timeouts

So you check your IMAP mail. On one of the messages, you get a timeout. From this point on, every time you check your mail you get a timeout. Autosync starts failing repeatedly.

So if you've been unhappy with IMAP because of timeouts and autosync failure, try raising your maximum message size to 5000. Yes, this means Versamail will attempt to download a 5mb message. But the alternative isn't ... well, just isn't.
