Posting in the Forums
How do I go about posting a new topic?
1 Go to the forum page where your topic will be most relevant. Please don't post joke topics in the Hardware Forums or help questions in General Chat
2 Click on the 'New Topic' TAB on the right near the top of the forum page.
3 Please fill in a specific topic subject. "Help, My Treo crashes when I launch Initiate!" Is good form. "Please Help!" is BAD FORM!!!
4 DO NOT CROSS POST!!!
5 Wait at least 1 day before assuming no-one wants to answer you. Sometimes people are busy.

Kudos in the forum
Kudos are for entertainment purposes only. They mean very little since anyone can give or take KUDOS for ANY REASON! WikiEgadgetguymytreo.net ("mtdn") is community based. We exist to help each other, and for this reason we have KUDOS. If you look at the left of a post, you will see a little bit about that person: their name, device model, mobile provider, etc. Almost directly under their name is their kudo count. As soon as you have posted twice in a public forum, you will see a hotlink under a person's kudo count where you can click to Applaud or Smite the poster. Clicking on the Applaud button will increase the poster's kudo count. Clicking on Smite will subtract from the kudo count. You are limited to one kudo/smite per poster in a 72 hour period.
Why would you want to give someone a kudo?
- S/he answered a question you had.
- S/he pointed you in the direction of some software you needed.
- S/he gave you the link to come here to the Knowledge Base.
- S/he answered a question for the 372nd time instead of saying "do a search!"
- S/he just made you laugh out loud.
- S/he made you look at a problem from a new perspective.
- Just cause you're in a generous mood.
Why would you want to smite someone?
- S/he answered your newbie post with "do a search!"
- S/he was just plain rude, vulgar, or argumentative.
- S/he was looking for warez or cracks.
Please don't smite someone just to spite them!
