  1. after hotsync and when my phone restarts it says there is no enough memorybut there is more then 16 mb

  2. Same Problem here. After deleting nearly all appl. I had 18MB free. During download of the patches the Treo reboots and the log statet that the communiction was broken. Tried it several times, but I had no success.

  3. Prius and Verizon Treo 650 Success!

Pairing the a Verizon serviced Treo 650 with the Prius Bluetooth system has been a challenge, but once done successfully is well worth the effort. Hopefully this post will help others do this with greater ease. Unfortunately, I have found that Verizon techs and Toyota salesmen, repairmen and techs tend to know very little about the procedure. Infact, most Toyota people and the Toyota web site refer people to the “LetsTalk.com” web site. This site is currently a complete waste of time, and does not list the Treo or any other Verizon phone as being compatible with the Prius. The Toyota sales people are simply trained to refer to this third party company and most of them have never looked at the web site for themselves.

    1. First you must do the firmware upgrade to 1.04 software. Go to the Palm website http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/treo650updater/verizon.html and download the update. Make sure that you have at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time to devote to this. You can use either a Mac or Windows computer. But you MUST have the Treo connected to its power cord or else the update will not work.

Without this update the Treo can recognize the Prius bluetooth, but the Prius will not complete the connection with the phone.

I recommend printing out the detailed instructions on completing this update from the Palm website and following those directions to the T. This is a MAJOR upgrade and the procedure will automatically copy ALL of your software to your Mac or PC, erase everything from your Treo, and then transfer ALL of your original material back to the Treo. You may need to re-enter registration passwords for some of the software on the Treo.

When you finish use the Palm directions to check that you really do have the new version of the software on your phone!

    2. At this point you will be able to make the bluetooth connection between the Prius and the Treo, except that the connection will fail after the first call. You will find that you will have to re-register the phone in the Prius with every call.

To prevent this do the following:
    a. go to the applications list
    b. select preferences
    c. under communication, select “Hands Free”
    d. change autoanswer to anything other than “disable”. The default was disable.

Now, anytime that you enter your car with the phone on your belt, in your pocket or in your purse the Prius will automatically connect and your calls will ring through the stereo. Calls have an astounding clarity!

The above instructions are for the Treo 650, I have know idea what problems may be encountered with the Treo 700 because that version is a hybrid between the Palm world and the Microsoft Windows world.

  4. Actually, I have the 1.17 version of the treo software for Cingular. In this configuration all I ahd to do was set the “Discoverable” bluetooth option to “yes”.

In particular, set the option to yes, do the pairing drill.

If the prius seems to not want to finish (e.g. if the connect dialog never clears from the screen) immediately make a call _from_ the Treo. [I called my home phone.] Sometime in the midst of the ring-and-answer the pairing will complete.

From then on everything works including uploading your phonebook and so on and you are not stuck with auto-answer.

  5. I’ve completed all the steps outlined by John Sampson (thanks). I have a 2006 Prius and a Verizon Treo 650. After updating my firmware to v1.04 the Prius has been able to periodically recognize my Treo. It appears the only time it works though is if I make or receive a call when the car is attempting to connect during start-up. Then it is only good for one call. Other times I can’t connect, even when the car tells me the connection was successful at start-up. Does anyone have any other tips that have worked for them?

  6. BLUETOOTH/PRIUS PROBLEM: I have a Treo 650 on Cingular and a 2005 Prius. I got them to pair on Bluetooth … but the phone and the car don’t connect right away when I start driving. Sometimes a few minutes later, sometimes an hour, I get the “Bluetooth Connect Successful” infobox on the car’s LCD. Only if I turn the phone ON, then it connects immediately. Can this be fixed? I have updater version 1b.17-CNG installed.

  7. I have a new unlocked gsm treo, ran the 1.2 update, but it reboots VERY often.

It seems to be when it drops the connection, either checking email or even once on a call.

Getting Phone Info, there is no entry in SA Number or Firmware.

    any help appreciated, thx
