(NASDAQ: PSRC), provider of Palm OS®, a leading operating system powering next generation Treo smartphones and mobile devices, today launched the PalmSource Geographic Developer Partner program. The program is designed to provide Palm OS developers with access to additional local resources that will facilitate the development of localized applications for the Palm OS platform. PalmSource also announced today that Goware is the first member of the Geographic Developer Partner program. Goware will be dedicated to the Italian mobile market.

 

With the Geographic Developer Partner program, PalmSource will designate partners and collaborate with them to build and strengthen the local Palm OS Economy and developer ecosystems in specific geographies. These geographic developer partners will help ensure that Palm OS software developers, system integrators and value added resellers (VARs) will receive the requisite technical and marketing support to help them bring localized Palm OS software applications and solutions to market. The Geographic Developer Partner program, working through its members, is designed to provide increased revenue opportunities for local Palm OS developers and a superior experience for both consumer and enterprise users of Palm Powered™ phones and mobile devices.

Goware Named First Geographic Developer Partner Program Member

PalmSource also announced today that Goware, a system integrator and software development company for the mobile market, has been selected as the Company’s first Geographic Developer Partner program member. Headquartered in Rome, Italy, Goware works with Italian enterprises to provide a variety of services for the enterprise, business and consumer markets, including systems integration, software development and project management.
