Palm OS Treo 700p Rumors

possible_treo700p_s.jpg

This week, Treo 700p and Treo 800 rumors surfaced on the internet. The Treo 800 rumors spread rapidly but were retracted (duping credible sites such as Engadget). Treo 700p rumors have not been retracted and may in fact be credible.

At this point it’s widely believed that a vastly improved Palm OS model will be made available following an initial selling exclusivity period for the recently released Windows Mobile enabled Treo 700w. Precise specifications remain a secret, however. Rumors currently circulating suggest Palm OS Garnet 5.4.9, 62 megabytes of user-available onboard memory, 320×320 high-res screen resolution, 1 megapixel camera and EVDO support. Nobody credible has suggested that Wifi will be built in.

As release dates for devices approach, Palm partners and carriers come into possession of devices for testing, and information gets leaked. However, we caution readers to take all rumors circulating on the net with a grain of salt until information becomes publicly available on the FCC website and from Palm itself.

  1. i was told by someone at palm sales when i wanted to buy the 700w that i should wait for the 700p so i guess this is credible

  2. eveyone is missing the main upgrade the 700p needs.. It’s a better Bluetooth inside the phone.. that would make all the dif..

I was speaking to a guy from jabra and he told me that they use the lowest end of bluetooth tech. as appose to say.. ericson or nokia.. any news on that?

  3. I really am hoping they come out with a 700p soon…
the windows version has the worst screen resolution.

  4. Wah Hoooo!

  5. I think that they missed the boat big time with the 700w. For the 700p or whatever theyre going to call it, they need to interview treo users to see what needs to be changed first to make it a better phone instead of adding things that are not that important (picture dial?,horizontal screen) or that you can get on the 650 (sharkmessagel) Look at the difference between the 600 and the 650. Nothing less than that for a newer treo will convince me. I mean, come on, how many people have treos that always freeze up or does anyone notice that you cant make more than one three way call at a time.My friends t-mobile free phone can conference call 8 people at once. All im saying is make a better phone first. Then you can add everything else (higher bluetooth, more memory, built in wifi, faster internet speed, etc)

  6. Hope the Treo 700P is a real thing in near future (March 06?) as I am planning to get one to replace my O2 mini PDA phone. I missed the keyboard alot.

  7. I have a question, not a comment maybe someone can help me. I have the Treo 650 and for no apparent reason, it will disconnect and say Goodbye. I then have to hold the red button down until it says Hello again. It does this sometimes quite often.

Is there anywhere in the menu I can always have it in the Hello(phone on ) position.

    Thanks for your help.
