You can place and answer calls without removing your hands from the steering wheel using the built-in controls or the Multi Media Interface (MMI) interface.
“The MMI provides information from the Treo 650 smartphone - including caller ID, signal strength, roaming status, and time - on its 7″ screen… The system also lets you take full advantage of all that the Treo 650 smartphone has to offer, including dialing outgoing calls, viewing call history, dialing from Treo favorites, speed dials, and call logs, accessing Treo voice mail, and managing multiple incoming calls.”
Another smart feature is the intelligence of the system in lowering the volume of the stereo when a call is in progress, and resuming the previous volume when the call is completed.
Bluetooth integration comes standard on all A6 and A8 model lines, and is an option for A3 and A4 models.
Audi also promises an upcoming phone cradle that will charge the Treo 650 and connect it to the external antenna for optimal reception.

What about the owners of 2005 Audi A6s? I am having a problem with my Verizon Treo 650 and my 2005 A6. Apparently, the Favorites (speed dials) will not upload to the car. Verizon claims its a know problem and to contact Audi. However, the Verizon website does not mention anything about know problems with Audi.
Audi indicated that Verizon and/or Palm should be able to supply a patch - they feel it is a software issue.
Does anyone know if there is a patch that could correct this problem?

I agree with DAvid Craig!! I too have an Audi A6 and have tried to link my Treo to it. When I first bought the car, it linked well, then slowly the quality of the link degraded. I downloaded the firmware upgrade 1.17 since it said that “it will enhance my bluetooth performance”. After that, I had no link at all. AFter numerous phone call and trips to the Cingular store and Audi dealership and testing my devices on both sides, I still have no Bluetooth link. This is truly dissapointing. I was sold on the car and phone due to this feature. If anybody has a solution, please respond ASAP.

I am on my 4th Treo 650 GSM (Roger’s in Canada). At first my first 650 spontainious rebooted itself when connect to the bluetooth in my 2005 A6. Then second Treo did same as well as began to drop the bluetooth connection sporadically and continously reboot itself to point where I couldn’t dial out. The phone would finish rebooting itself and then would not reconnect to my service provider unbeknownst to me (so I would go without cell service until I went to use the phone). I continue have much the same problems with my lastest replacement… Audi blames the phone and Roger’s doesn’t have clue… what’s wrong…
Ah to be an early adaptor…
