Palm and Movistar Introduce Treo 750 Smartphone in Peru

LIMA, Peru, Dec 12, 2007 (Press Release) — Palm, Inc. and Movistar today launched the Palm Treo 750 smartphone in Peru, the first Windows Mobile based Treo smartphone to take advantage of Movistar’s network in Peru.

The Treo 750 combines a multifeatured mobile phone with email, messaging, web browsing and organization software all in a compact design. The new smartphone has UMTS/HSDPA (High-speed Download Packet Access) capability and comes with Microsoft’s Direct Push Technology for Windows Mobile 5.0, which gives users connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server fast, automatic and secure wireless updates of their email, calendar items, contacts and tasks. Also, customers that purchase the Treo 750 today can later upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.

For customers who prefer to have Microsoft’s Windows operating system applied across all their corporate computing assets, the Treo 750 gives users a convenient way to access their business-critical data and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents at broadbandlike download speeds to make just about anyplace a work place.
