Firmware version 3.04 is available now (officially unreleased) for Treo 600 GSM phones.

This new firmware will update your Treo software to version 1.12 and opens the microphone API in a way that makes voice recording possible. It will also change your startup screens to PalmOne branding. Treo owners who have upgraded to v3.04 report other benefits including:

• Adds a “private mode” to the SMS application, disabling the popup with the message text.
• May help with buzzing and echo problems.
• Makes phone faster and more reactive - changing apps, etc.
• Network search and connect time much faster.
• Reception improved.
• Battery life improved.
• Camera improvements (less “blue dottiness?”)
• GPRS lag decrease, very noticeable connecting and in Blazer.
• New midi sound manager application.
