MagicButton

MagicButton by Toysoft utilizes the Treo’s headset button to control Pocket Tunes, dial contacts and launch applications. MagicButton also has several options for controlling the phone functions of the Treo. MagicButton is well suited for anyone who uses a wired headset, especially music lovers who use Pocket Tunes.

Pocket Tunes

MagicButton is closely integrated with Pocket Tunes, and as a result, is an exceptional remote control for Pocket Tunes. MagicButton offers 7 functions that can be mapped to 5 button presses including previous/next track, pause, fast-forward, rewind stop, and play. For instance, press the headset button once to Pause Pocket Tunes, twice to skip to the next song and so on. Another great feature of MagicButton is the ability to control Pocket Tunes without waking the Treo. In other words, Even with the screen off and the keyguard on, MagicButton recognizes button presses.

Launching Applications

MagicButton can be configured to launch applications and system events. Like with the contacts menu you can configure 7 applications and or system events to be controlled with the headset button. For instance you can send and receive email with one press of the headset button. You can even use MagicButton to remotely snap photos. This is very helpful for self portraits.

Controlling the Phone

MagicButton can be configured to dial up to 7 contacts. It also allows for extra digits to be established for automated services or extensions. This versatile app can also be configured to auto-answer, block incoming calls when on a call, and automatically pause/resume Pocket Tunes when making or receiving calls.

Conclusion

While MagicButton Launches applications and controls phone features very well, it truly shines when paired with Pocket Tunes. I strongly recommend MagicButton for music lovers and anyone who uses a wired headset.
