Iambic’s ToolBoxToGo - Sneak Peak

Next week, Iambic will be releasing ToolboxToGo for Palm OS. Five uniquely designed tools help you make minor changes to a vast amount of Calendar, Contact, Task and Memo entries in Agendus, or the native PIM that comes with the Treo/Centro.
ToolboxToGo consists of five handy utilities:
- Contact Name Doctor
- Contact Number Doctor
- Delete By Date
- Mass Item Data Changer
- Note Tag Cleaner
Although ToolboxToGo hasn’t officially been released yet, I was able to get a sneak peak and take it for a spin. Two years ago I was given a database of contacts that were typed by a collection of non-typists. I exported the database into my Palm desktop so that I would have access to the contacts, but most of the last names were all in upper case, and in some cases, both the first and last names were completely in caps. I always wanted to fix it to make it look normal, but with 200 names, I didn’t want to spend the time retyping them all. Finally, a utility that did this task for me in an eyeblink! My contacts finally look normal again.
This is an exciting addition to your Palm os toolbox, so watch for its official release over the next few days.

You know me…if it’s from Iambic, I can’t wait!!! Would this be able to do what Ezmaintain and Undupe do as well (eliminate duplicate contacts)?
Not familiar with either of those, and I know there are more goodies waiting to be packed into ToolBoxToGo, so we’ll have to wait and see!
I’ll look forward to this too, Iambic is one of few veteran Palm developers remaining that are actively developing. Although they often push the envelope to ridiculous extremes, their work is usually beautiful and often functions relatively bug-free by the .05 or .06 release per version. They know their stuff with the native PIMs - I’ve used ActionNames/Agendus for about 11 years now and can’t say they’ve ever messed up my databases. Glad to see them finally release a utility like this.
