I have noticed that with the latest version when you are selecting "Sample Presets" that if you select "Simple" then all of the other presets carry forward the "Simple" screen until you select "Default".

Not sure if bug or is this is the way it is set to function.

Well, it's a little confusing maybe, but intentional. I rearranged the order to make this less likely though. Default at the top, Simple on the bottom. They're not intended to be used in normal operation so I guess I'm not too worried about this.

Super job tmt! I just discovered this app a few weeks ago and it is by far one of the most useful apps on my Treo. I just pmed you to see if you can squeeze one more tester on KGT+. Cheers on your dedication.

By the way, sorry if the discussion here might be a little on the hype side.
I'm not trying to hype it - this is just a piece of freeware - but I wanted to keep
everyone up to date so they'd know what to expect. I've had a bunch of great
info from many people here, it's a great group. It's going to be a lot more robust
that it would have been otherwise, with all your help.

Anyway, beta 5.05 is out with the following changes:

- the "press-press" hang is fixed (pressing same button to
dismiss KGT+ in press-mode)

- can dismiss KGT+ with key* or pen in poweron mode

- banner "auto" mode works properly to dodge keyguard

- Antenna was showing one bar too low on low ranges

- Language tweaks in the forms and help tips

- There was one additional report of a hard hang when the
Treo powered on due to an alert, with keyguard on and
KGT+ in "show with keyguard" mode. It isn't clear this was
a KGT+ problem, but it can't be reproduced in this version.

After the second round of issues from the beta versions, I decided
to do some recoding. As you might imagine, the event management
is a tricky piece of code, and I really want it to be rock-solid. So I
reworked some of it using the recent experience. It uses a somewhat
different method to enter the display code, which passes events
along a more standard path. As a benefit, the code is much more
efficient too.

* - I should mention that dismissing press-mode with the Center
button seems to be different from dismissing with other keys on
the 650. On this model, you get a center-down event differently
from others, and for some reason KGT+ doesn't swallow the whole
event. So, you generally wind up selecting something. This doesn't
happen on any other key so I think that's the explanation, but I'm
still looking into it. Just FYI - no harmful effect.

Say, I discovered something strange about the key handling and Versamail. None of the "normal" hardkeys, or Center, work as popups when you're in it. If you map KGT+ to the Phone, Vol+, Vol- or Side buttons it works fine though. Turns out ClockPop5 has the same issue, and they all work perfectly in other applications, so it seems Versamail is stealing them...

Actually, I think I know what V-mail is doing. No wonder it's such an oinker.

Just a little tidbit. I'll look into it later.

Just installed the beta and found a few things.

I like the way it takes over the center button if I choose it to power on on hold -> Center. It kills the annoying Alarms notification built-in to the T650.

Here is something I would like as a choice for the look of the clock...I would like to see if you can make a choice of how dark you can make the gray background and the choice of no shadows at all.

Lastly is the sound icon in the Display Content is not working for me whether I have sound on or not.

Re "side" button showing on both models - yeah I can probably hide it on 600's...

Re "mute" display not showing properly - what model Treo?

Re additional background shading options - "no shading" is already supported in the current options, and the other "<todo>" that appears there is the same but with a white clockface that isn't implemented yet. I'll think about the darkness.

I also like the idea of a darker gray.  What is currentely implemented as gray is probably more of a half tone than a real gray background.

The mute icon is not displaying correctly on my Treo 650. It shows up as mute when I have it both on and off. All the other icons (bluetooth, beam, and SD card, etc.) is working fine.

The mute icon is OK on my GSM 650. Also if I keep KGT up and move the button back and forth KGT catches up when it refreshes the screen info.

I just figured this out with tmt and found out that having the Game Sound set to none with keep the mute indicator from working correctly. I have the Sprint T650 so if some people can verify and recreate that, it'll will help.
