Switching from Sprint to Alltel

I have the MLS unlock code for my sprint phone, but my current provider Alltel won't activate the phone because the ESN HEX number on the back of the phone is from a different carrier.  Is there any way that I can change the ESN HEX number to an Alltel number?  Or is there something else I should be doing?

if you can't get alltell to do it then you need an alltel phone
