What's the hole on the top left edge of the phone? It looks like a stylus silo...

I was hoping Pixi was a code name. Pre? Eh... Pixi? Not for me(n) - especially if it has the same tinkerbell tones.

I sure hope so, but it is time for me to replace my phone (getting tired of dual-belt-clip cases Tongue)...and with rumors of the Pro being EOL and announcements of new webOS devices, I don't think waiting will be any good. I know for sure that I will miss the ringer switch...

EDIT: Not to mention whether any Palm devices will make it to Verizon, seeing that the 800w and Pro were Sprint-only...

Is is just me, or does it look like the volume buttons on the Pixi are now located on the opposite side of the device?

I'm still torn as to what I want to do... get a Pre, get a Pixi, or get something completely different.  I have never been so indecisive about a phone before.

Unless it ends up being $50 or less I don't see the point of the Pixi. No wifi smaller screen worse camera. I know its supposed to be entry level but with the Pre down to $150 there's not much room under that.

there are those for whom the candybar form and exposed keyboard are a plus.  wifi-less will be fine for many (not me) and many of us are used to wifi free treo/centros (of course the same can be said for those who wish the have wifi on their treo/centros as can be seen in a mutitude of "wifi for my palm" thread)
i think, as i stated in a reply to my frontpage article and as edvidenced by the appearance of the Pixi at the Mercedes Benz fashion show, that it will appeal to those more fashion concious (fashonitas Wink ) and to Television Prop companies.

it seems to me this plays out a lot like treo/centro in that the tech geeks love their big phone and the trendys like small package and pretty art.
that said my guess is EOS II will have some sort of wifi or that 4th Gen WebOS devices will have two way USB (ability to be host as well) and that there will be wifi addons.
this may even be possible with the current hardware as i'm not sure if host based is a hardware or software based USB feature.
remember these are the first of many devices from a company that hangs on to an Operating system for 15 years and prides itself on backward compatibility throughout the ages (a major reason for Web language usage for the OS/APPS

It is a violation of my rights to force me to scroll so far down to the basement to engage in meaningless rhetoric about this phone, with a gurls phone name, teH PiXI...........

Oh yeah, have I mentioned how much I like AccuRadio on me Pr?

I see. They shouldn't have named this the Pixi. They should have called it the Raspberry. Not much of a fashionista myself.

Still think the price point is mucho important for this. If its north of $99 it'll flop. And even at $99 I think people will be tempted by a lot of other phones.

Oh and Chuck I'm too sick to run away from midijo so I'll keep my Pixi discussion down here.

but realistically, WHEN people in Europe should expect the d^mn thing?

the "unlocking process" of the Pre is painfully slow, I'm not familiar with the details but I just wonder, I hope for them they made a hugely profitable contract with Sprint because it looks to me they're losing out to competitors, need another gun to shoot themselves in the foot there?

meh exclusivity is the norm for phones, palm's is usually 6 mnths and gsm (europe) PRE is before holidays.  GSM Pixi I'd wager June.  No such thing as Unlocking CDMA devices so i'm not too sure what "unlocking process" you mean.
(boy i feel as though i've stated all this before Tongue )

I'm afraid my suspicions are true...the Treo Pro will be the last Treo.
