Hello All,

1st post and I did get Gvoice to work.

I was not able to dial at 1st but went into the configure in settings and added a "1" in front of the area code and all the sudden it worked for me.   Without the "1" the app would say dialing, but never connected, with the "1" it connected in about 5 seconds.

Hope this helps anyone who is having problems with the program.

Off the topic, but I started to use my Treo 755P (sprint) again after my HTC Touch Pro started to give me a lot of problems and after downloading some apps for the phone like it better than my Touch Pro.

Thank you to everyone for your hard work keeping palm os alive and kicking.

I tried adding "1" as well as other variations.  It's still not working for me.  Glad you're able to use it!  Smiley

I am a heavy user of Google Voice and use my number exclusively for a new business. So far it has been working great for me and with the addition of the GVoice app I can now make and return calls to clients without using my computer or navigating through my Centro's browser.

Shimon has been so responsive on this forum and has made some nice improvements in his GVoice app with more additions on the way I'm sure. Please consider making a donation to him to keep the development going. I sent him a PayPal donation and received his beta TraffiCam app as a thank you.

TraffiCam is really a handy app that allows you to add your local area highway traffic cams that can be accessed on the internet right into the app. You then can view them and can set them to auto refresh to keep tabs on the roads ahead in case you need to take your favorite back road to avoid a jam.

Thanks again Shimon, keep up the good work!

Great app! Since you seem to have experience in both programming for Google Voice and in triggering program events from a text message, have you thought about adding a voicemail function to your GVoice app? Basically, when you get a text message from your Google Voice number that starts with either "You've got a new voicemail from (XXX) XXX-XXXX." or "(1/X) You've got a new voicemail from (XXX) XXX-XXXX.", it would trigger your program to go to the Google Voice website and download the message to the phone.

Currently, due to the length of the URLs that Google Voice uses for the mp3 voicemail messages, you cannot play them from the mobile web page using Blazer (the .mp3 part gets truncated, so Kinoma or pTunes won't play it). If your app could work around this, I'd gladly pay for the upgrade.

That is one of the items I had hoped to address in the future.

A work around that I have been using is to download the voicemail file via Blazer to my memory card, then rename the downloaded file with a .mp3 extension using a file program (I use Resco Explorer). After this I can play it in Ptunes.

Shimon worked with me over a few days and Gvoice is now working for me.

Thanks, Shimon!

I haven't taken much time to try it out, yet:  I have a pretty good setup using Palm's Favorites.  I create a Favorite, Type = Speed Dial, Label = contact name, Number = my GV number, Quick Key = any available key.  Under 'More,' Extra Digits = 2,<contact number>#.  Note that my GV doesn't require a PIN when calling from my cell phone, otherwise it'd be <PIN>, 2,<contact number>#.  I simply open Palm's dialer, then press and hold the Quick Key for my contact.  My phone dials my GV number then dials my contact.  It's usually a quick process, although for some reason the DTMF tones seem to get mixed up once in a while and miss-dials.  It's not too often, but I wish I could fix this.

I also have all my contacts set up in Google Voice, so it's fairly easy for me to make calls through Blazer when necessary.

Now that it's working, I'm going to give the GVoice app a good go.  For simply dialing outbound calls that are not already in my Favorites or GV Contacts, it should come in handy.  I still haven't quite gotten the hang of using GVoice's 'Lookup' feature. It would be nice if GVoice had a feature similar to speed dial or favorites -- quick access to my most frequently called numbers.  That would be very handy!

Thanks again, Shimon!  It was a pleasure trouble-shooting the issue with you and I appreciate your quick response during the process.  Smiley

No problem. I'll have a new version out this week to fix it for everyone.  I've also added a paste feature that was requested so that you can paste a phone number in from other apps.  I'm still working on some other improvements, and I'll post them here as they become available.

With regard to the contacts look up- I haven't gotten the up and down buttons on the 5-way to work quite right (it allows you to scrolls but does not select), however the green button will load the selected contact and pressing the green button again will place the call.

That's a great feature!  I hadn't thought about that, but it makes perfect sense.

Hi there, I have been trying to download this onto my centro with no luck. It says that the file type is not supported. Are there any instructions on how to download this?

Folks...There has apparently been another change to the Google authentication process.  I am looking into it and hope to have an update soon.  For now, if your dialer is working, then do not attempt to re-login.

On a happier note, I just got SMS (outbound) working - stay tuned for updates.
