Hey Everyone,
I just released version 1.3.2 of PhoneSwitch Deluxe. This new version has very little that 1.3.1 didn't as far as the regular user is concerned. A few things have been moved around a bit. The big addition to this release is an enhanced backend API for other developers to access. I have worked with ShSh software to ensure that the next version of TAKEphONE (not available as of this post) will work perfectly with PhoneSwitch Deluxe. One example of the TAKEphONE/PhoneSwitch integration is the ability to highlight a number anywhere, dial with TAKEphONE, then have PhoneSwitch take you bakc to that app after the call.
If you've never tried PhoneSwitch I encourage you to download it and give it a shot. Remember: BoraWare has one of the longest trial periods in the industry. You can try PhoneSwitch for 37 days with full functionality. Why 37 you ask? That's quite simple, how many times have you finished a 30 day trial and thought to yourself "I wish I had another week to play with this." I agree, so I threw an additional week on to the already standard 30. And after those 37 days if you like PhoneSwitch Deluxe but don't need all of the extra features, PhoneSwitch Basic is and always will be completely free, so by all means download that version instead. Enjoy!

Phil, Glad to see you were finally able to release .2
I noticed that you also made the exclude list drop down for addition apps. One thing I don't get though (and .1 did this as well). If one adds a application to the list you can still see (and add ad infinitum) the same app. How come????
Still I have to say I love Phoneswitch Deluxe because it'll only take me back to an app if I get interrupted (i.e. not when I make an outgoing call like in PSW Basic).
If anyone hasn't tried this program yet (though as this is Phil's part of the forum there probably are not many lurkers) it's well worth the price It frustrated me, so much, to be in the middle of a game or memo or whatever and suddenly a call comes in and I'm stuck in the phone app after I get off. No More now that I have PhoneSwitch. But people who used my phone would get mad that the unanswered call they were making dumped them out of the phone app with PSW Basic so I upgraded and now my treo works as it should.
five star program from a MTDN Star Developer.

Looks like you found a little bug. I'll have that fixed in the next release. The good news is that adding a program more than once causes absolutely no problems. Thanks for pointing it out though. - Phil - BoraWare

Sweet, you're welcome I live to help Palm Developers, you guys are always on the level with your users and it's a platform that has always been open and versatile. No other machine (except per se Linux I guess) can be made to work however the individual users wants it and that should be a source of pride for you, Hobbyist and all other developers big and small.

Phil, this release seems to work well with Phone Technician's "stay put" function.

Ben, great to hear. Could you enlighten me on what PT's "stay put" feature does? Thanks, - Phil -

When the "stay put" function is enabled and a call is received, the application is temporarily replaced by the phone application to allow one to answer or dismiss the call and then it goes back to the call and stays there until the call is terminated. To a degree this works; however, if the device is not kept busy, meaning you are not doing something with the current application, after a few moments of inactivity, the phone application takes over, meaning the previous application is closed and the phone application takes over.

Interesting... I'll see what I can figure out about this problem. Hopefully there's a demo version somewhere I can download to do some testing with, being I don't have a GPS I'm not familier with the software. I'll let you know if I figure anything out.

Phil, Yesterday I decided to try TakePhone, wich I have resisted for a long time. But too many contacts led me to that /speed issues). So, I intend to get back to TP every time I make a call, but stay in my previous app every time I hang up a received call. Nothing better, I thought, than trying PhoneSwitch Deluxe again (left it aside since I reported the non-working problems in v1.3.1 and kept free version). Well, the problem is the same: I can't get PS v1.3.2 to work on my unlocked Treo680. Could it be TP taking control of the "go back" feature? I tried every possible configuration, including API colaboration, but only if TP is ordering something I get a result. If "do not return" is set, PS does not relaunch any app, wether after outgoing or incoming calls. Can you please help?

pnop,
PhoneSwitch Deluxe actually has some code that interacts with TAKEphONE. Shimon and I worked together a long time ago to make sure things worked. I'm currently running the dev version of TP that he sent me when we were working in this and all works well. Could you give me an example of what your doing and what the result is? I'll try to reproduce it.

Phil, Here's an example: I'd like PS to control everything, so I go to TP and, under Preferences>Treo/Centro, at the bottom I select "Do not return after calls". Then, I go to PS and set it as: Main>Enable>Last App Opened and Advanced>Only relaunch after incoming calls>Relaunch after outgoing call: TakePhone. Also, I select "Enable API Interaction". After that configuration, nothing happens, I mean, wether a call comes in or goes out my T680 allways stands in built in Phone app. I think this is what you asked for. Thank you.
