Drat.  Foiled again!  I was wondering why it would go from 3 bars to 0 and nothing in between.  Shouldn't have told us until after you started selling it.  I had $5 with your name on it.   laugh

HI FOOLKS,

IT'S A 1st APRIL JOKE. NOT A REAL APPLICATION.

Drat.  Foiled again!  I was wondering why it would go from 3 bars to 0 and nothing in between.  Shouldn't have told us until after you started selling it.  I had $5 with your name on it.   laugh

I think everyone who was PUNKED by this should donate $5 towards development of more great apps.  The entertainment value of imaginging people driving all over town and wandering around was worth it.

Where should I send mine?  Keep up the great work.

Also in response to one of the other posts I may be a newbie on this forum but I've been Palm user since there was a palm.  I remember upgrading to the Palm Pro manually.  and have owned and used almost everyone of the major palm platforms (though I did defect to Handsprings for a while Smiley  Its great shareware authors that keep me on this platform.

To "donate" to Rob, jus buy one of his apps

DickieD is right.

The sincerest form of flattery is plunking cash down for a program that you find useful.

Of course, when your renewal comes due in a year be sure to send in your payment to continue the joy for another term.

Folks, I have a new beta-application for you to try.

Of all the hacks I have posted, this one is the most obscure. I spotted this one when poking around looking for more ways to save power in Power Hero.

Obviously it actually isn't a power saver, in fact, it seems to be a slight power drainer. What it does is shift the balance that the phone has to make between saving power and battery life versus getting the maximum signal strength. I found the function while poking around in the phone library. The comment by the library trap entry suggests it is putting the software into fixed origin originator linkup mode. This seems to increase the power usage of the radio, but also significantly increases the reception by between 1 and 2 bars. I'm not exactly sure about how much power this will use, so please do let us know at the forum how you find it.

Lastly, this is a new beta, so use at your own risk!

enjoy,

Rob

Interesting how this was posted on APRIL FOOL's day and the first letter of each paragraph spells out "FOOL." Anyone else notice this? I'm thinking it is a joke?
