I own the 700 wx. Verizon. I connect the Treo to my computer and I want to view the text message files in windows explorer, but when I do it I never see them. I have my computer set to view hidden files. I have so many text messsages and I would like to transfer them to my storage card. Do you know how can I view these files and possibly transfer them? I also have windows vista please let me know if you know how to do this or if there is a file program I should download.

Thanks.

it was a while ago but i think i tried the smsbackup and it didn't let me view the texts in windows.

what i've found that works:

it lets you download texts as an xml file, which you can open up in excel and all the information in the messages is separated into columns.

You may also wish to try My Mobilizer. It is an App by which you can you can see your Treo on your desktop. It also has drag & drop functionality. Worst case scenario, you could cut & paste your messages into  notes, so that when you sync, it will transfer automatically.
