755p 1.04 update flash into 700p = YES

I got an error message when I try to turn on the phone like this.

Firmware ROM Mismatch
                                                             The software update failed to complete
                                                              Please go to the support Downloads
                                                           page at www.palm.com to perform the
                                                            software update again or visit your nearest
                                                            Sprint store or assistance.

What should I do?

Thank GOD,  I got it working.  I did not have the newest update for the 700p so I just up dated with that and the put in the 755 update.   So far it is working very well.    But I am guessing from now on I have to treat my Treo like its a 755??

I have read that post, but my network is Telus and there is no update for the 700p for Telus.
I'm lost!!!

Kocoman, am I worth enough of a solution or suggestion from you?  I've posted both here and on that guys site who originally created the 650 upgraded ROM, but neither of you guys reply to anyone unless it's an interest of yours.  I'm a well known guy on Bimmerforums, Bimmerfest yada yada, but i'm still willing to IM and answer the greenpeas questions.

If anybody has interest in converting Telus phone, think again.

Currently, PDA feature is working fine except the Bluetooth after the conversion.
I can not turn on the Bluetooth. If I try to launch Bluetooth, it resets.
I guess there must be some 3rd party app. which is not compatible with this upgraded ROM.

Anyway, the big problem I have is the phone feature.
When I saw Kocoman's reply to this post that he started this conversion with his Telus phone, I was so excited and did the conversion immediately.

However I got the Firmware ROM Mismatch error when I tried to turn on the phone, and then Kocoman sent me a link to the Treo Central which saying that a CDMA Firmware update can resolve this problem. Since there is no ROM update for Telus, I used Sprint CDMA Firmware Updater which I found from the update package files.
Since then the error has gone, but it is in Roaming state now. I haven't activated this phone yet, (was going to activate it this weekend), but it had shown "Telus" on the top right of the phone screen before the conversion, and it shows "Roaming" instead now.

Kocoman is thankfully helping me with some advices by email to revert the network provider.

Update:

First of all, I would like to thank Kocoman for his continuous help and valuable information in spite of all my annoying questions.

Kocoman suggested to use Verizon CDMA Firmware Updater instead of the Sprint updater since Verizon's roaming default is Telus while Sprint's is Bell. I did the update once again with the Verizon updater and could successfully activate my phone today.

Also, the Bluetooth problem I have mentioned above has resolved after a hard reset and restore backup data selectively.

So, I'm happy now to have all-functional-700p with 755p ROM. I'm not quite sure, but it looks a little bit faster, maybe just my feeling.

Another thing I just noticed as of a few days ago is that now when someone sends me PictureMail, trying to click the hyperlink does nothing.  I have to copy and paste the webaddress into the browzer window after I launch Blazer.  I also added two favorites pages to which no longer work.

Do you have either Cleanstart, uncache, or memunfragment installed on your Treo?

I have memunfragment on my 4gb card, but when I tried to install it onto the phone, it caused it to reset.  UnCache I guess is the newest version of MemUnfragment, but Mem is still free, so I figured I should try that first.  Yesterday I backed up everything via HotSync, hard reset, then flashed a stock 700p ROM back onto the phone from the Sprint website....still no luck.  Now I know when I got the phone new, it worked fine, and i'm pretty sure it worked after I reflashed it to the 755p the first time.  I've reflashed it back to a 700p now a few times too see if that'd make the phone work better, respond quicker w/ PXA clocker, etc.  It's fine now, still slow, but fine....and it's finally stopped giving me the blank little white screen that i'd randomly.  I can't really remember at what point I started getting the blank screen and PictureMail problem.  I wish I had the option to be able to completely flatten my 700 like I could my 650, so I can KNOW i'm getting a clean slate.  I'm half tempted do a zero out reset and call Sprint to help me reprogram my number into the phone, then try the 755p ROM from a fresh starting point again.

does the 755 use a different version of Blazer then the 700p ? i have lost my default browser app (blazer) under preferences...all it shows now as the default browser app is "none" after the flash over to 755 rom
