My reflashed back to the 700p version is using 4.5.  I don't remember if it changed when it was converted to a 755p

Please contact me via email (or treocentral), because there are too many forums on the internet now then in the past and the threads are not easy to read in this forum (maybe font/layout problem).  sorry about not seeing the threads about your problem.

I'm re-reading the TreoCentral version since it's 11 pages of information as opposed to this only being 6.  Thanks for the reply.

I have memunfragment on my 4gb card, but when I tried to install it onto the phone, it caused it to reset.

Thats how it installs. It resets after you install and after you delete you also have to soft reset. I bet if you look in the delete menu you'll find memunfrag there.  It causes Blazer not to register as the default browser and your versamail and text links wont auto launch. (this is why Blazer fragments the memory too so memunfrag is doing its job and doing it well)

Dlete that or any of those apps and youll be ok.

Hey, good call Hatch.  Blazer is not the default browser and while I don't see Mem in the Home page list of apps, it is in the Delete list.  Isn't there some settings I can play w/ on Mem or do I just have to delete it completely then?  I still haven't re-installed the 755p update, so maybe I should go ahead and do that again.  Seems so many people have had luck w/ it, so I don't really know a true way to test to see if there are any improvements...kinda like adding an intake to a car...I need something concrete instead of using my butt dyno Wink

Since I have done this conversion, I have been happy with it. I don't know actually what the differences are because I did the conversion just after I purchased the 700p.

Yesterday, I tried novii Remote controller and found the working distance is only less than 1 meter. I wonder if this is due to the conversion or anything else. Is there any way to improve the IR power?

Yes - a different device. Undecided

The poor IR power of Treo is a well-documented and much-discussed topic

DickieD,
Have you heard of anyone doing This on the Verizon 700P.  I'm considering but not sure the effect of Sprint Rom on a verizon Phone.  I noticed all posters seemed to be Sprint.  Even checked TC and same thing.  Kocoman seems to think it could work but I am sceptical due to the lack of verizon posters.

The verzion is the just a different upgrade but there is no problem. Just be sure it is for the vezion type 700p not sprint or any other. my 700 works a little faster and seems to be more stable. Grin Smiley

so I can safely use the instructions on this page to perform the upgrade without bricking my Treo?  If that's the case I guess I try it later tonight.

There is no update for Verizon at the Palm site?  Roll Eyes  Or am I totally missing something.  I've already reverted to 700P Verizon so I'm fine there.  Just wanted to know if there's a way to do this update for Verizon.  You seem to imply that you did it in your previous post so I'd like to know where you got the romupdater for verizon.  Everything on the Sprint update worked except my data connection could not be established.

There IS Verizon update for 700p.
Download it and uncompress the file and find the CDMA firmware update. Copy only those two files (CDMA firmware updater.bprc and CDMA firmware updater_enUS.oprc) into the RAM and perform it. Those files are found in the folder "\PALM\DeviceCustomizer\Treo700p.VZW"
That's how I got my 700p for Telus working after the flash update.
Hope it helps.

Thanks but I still can't access my data connection.  This is the only thing not working I think.

Guess I'll have to revert since the data plan just refuses to work and I can't get a reasonable solution to fix it.  I'll have to try again.  It definitely was faster after the update though.
