The Kilt of Invisibility Reveals All. Mwhahaha.

« on: 20 March 2007, 23:49:56 »

I've quickly become a fan of Amy Winehouse.  Check out her site at:  http://www.amywinehouse.co.uk/.  (Advance warning:  requires flash, and music begins playing right away, but not too loudly.  You can sample 5 of her songs from the play menu at the top.  My current fave is Rehab.)

Her music style is varied.  Rehab has a 1950s/60s bluegrass/hills quality.  Her other stuff reminds me of something you'd hear at a little cabaret, but with some guts to it.

She ain't Britney Aguilera or some other pop-flave shave of the minute.  She's got a nice voice and some interesting vocal stylings.

Awesome voice - great link.  How on earth did you stumble upon her?

The other tunes remind me of 007 intro tunes...

She's great - and kinda like a cross between Minnie Driver and Chaka Khan.

Sounds great, looks great!
Makes me wonder what happened to Kateoneill though? I thought she would be nationally famous by now.

My kids turned me on to Amy Winehouse a few months back. Of course, I also thank them for John Legend. Considering their ages (20 & 24), my kids have spectacularly mature taste in music. Sometimes.

I saw Legend's name in a review I read for Winehouse.  Now I gotta check him out too...

and actually Hoos, have you heard Aguilera's Back To Basics 2 disc set(her newest album release)? if not you might be pleasantly surprised if you're diggin Winehouse. its my opinion that Aguilera has an amazing voice coupled with vocal talent too.

I think Aguilera has one of the best female or male voices I have ever heard.
Also think Winehouse sounds a little like Anastacia! All em not too hard on the eyes either! Thats always a plus in my book?
