I love myTreo now I made it work!

« on: 09 June 2004, 22:02:14 »

I just tried to use the card supplied with my treo, unbranded but Hitachi to back up using BackUpMan. The program fails with bad sectors error. I have reformatted the card twice with no change to the eror. Is there a utility to lock out bad sectors on the card the same way you do on hard drivesor is this card just useless?

TIA

I have exactly the same problem. And haven't found an answer yet, despite endless reformats. Sad I'm looking at buying another small card just for backups.

ooh. actually.  if you can put the sd card in a card reader and connect it to your PC, a full scandisk on it MAY lock out the bad sectors.  it is, after all using the 16-bit FAT system.

I formatted it that way. Didn't think of scandisk though... Ooh err.

Have just discovered that a hard reset fools all your demos into thinking they're new though. Hmmmm
