I'm not seeing any way to edit comments, and as always happens, some idiot has been posting porn URL's in them.

The comments are intended to be a one-way street; you can add to them but not remove them or edit them (I don't think it's intended that you be able to edit the opinions other users have posted).

Okay, wasn't sure then... Perhaps I'll paste into this thread any time I see comments that are inappropriate and an admin can be notified.

Seems that page owners can remove comments from their own pages, so I've removed all the comments from mine...thanks for the heads-up.

Thx for pointing it out. I'm manually removing the spam from the database once per week, please don't hesitate to let me know if it's particularly bad again. If anybody has a good easy to implement fix to stop the spam then please let me know, too. @khaytsus, not sure how you ended up with a negative number of kudos but I helped you a little on the way back up again.

Hmmmmm... Who knows.. I haven't posted on this forum that much, I couldn't have annoyed someone that much. But maybe it was from somewhere else and carried in like so much mud on boots. Here's some more... In fact I just noticed today there is a link to "recently commented" that can be easily used to glance at recent comment spam: http://mytreo.net/treofaq/RecentlyCommentedSo a few more: UploadFiles WikkaDocumentation AzGatekeep

OK, I've changed the ACLs (Access Control Lists) for my page to allow comments from registered users only.
Feico, you may want to set that as the default permission for the entire Knowledge Base, and alter the existing pages to reflect that setting once we've gotten all the spam comments cleaned up.
For the record, the ACLs on my page are now set to Read Access - Everyone (*); Write and Comment Access - Registered Users Only (+).

Oh cool, there's a server setting for it It has applied the ACL to all pages that didn't have a custom ACL yet - I think we can safely assume you were the only one who had done so we should be okay now. KFU!!!

Sounds very reasonable to me.. It'll slow them down anyway, although I expect we'll still have to keep an eye open, some spammers are very persistant.

True...but the registration process to edit our Wiki isn't as transparent as it might be (at least, it wasn't the last time I looked, which was admittedly some time ago), so it won't be all that easy for these folks, and hopefully they won't find it worth the effort.
