Yes I also have the processing-but-no-page happening sometimes. Since this is a pilot release we can hope that a new release will come soon.  Grin

Opera Mini was designed for Cell phones which don't typically have touch screens.  To speed up navigation, I assumed that they must have included some keyboard shortcuts.  Sure enough, they did.  Here they are:
#1 - enter address
#2 - bookmarks
#3 - page down (?)
#4 - home page
#5 - history
#6 - page info
#7 - bookmark this page
#8 - settings
#9 - web search
#0 - ??
## - forward
backspace - back

I forgot to mention that this on the LoFi version.  I haven't tried the HiFi version.

Foiled again - hopefully someone can help me out with this:

In Blazer I have to use the T-Mobile proxy to connect to any site (I'm on the t-zones plan), , but Opera Mini doesn't have a similar setting where you can enter proxy server information.  I flipped out (in a happy way) when I went into system Prefs was able to enter the T-Mobile proxy info into the Global Preferences screen for IBM Java VM (there is an HTTP Proxy blank just for this purpose).

I then went back up to the dropdown box at the top of that screen and selected IBM Java VM and selected the Use Global Preferences box.  After that, I selected Opera Mini from the dropdown and checked the Use Global Preferences box on this screen as well.

I pressed the Done button, launched Opera Mini and tried to connect to several different sites, but a popup saying "An unexpected error occurred.  Your browsing experience might be limited."

So I go back into the system Prefs panel for the Treo and select IBM Java VM, thinking that maybe I incorrectly entered the T-Mobile proxy on the Global Preferences screen.  Doublechecked and it's correct, but when I then used the dropdown to make sure the Use Global Preferences box was checked on the IBM Java VM and Opera Mini screens, it was unchecked in both instances.  I guess this is why I was getting that Opera Mini error when trying to connect - the browser wasn't using the proxy info because those boses were unchecked..

I checked it again on both those screens and clicked Done, but whenever I exit the IBM Java VM Prefs and go back to those screens, the Use Global Preferences box is unchecked every time (lather, rinse, repeat  laugh).

Any idea why those boxes are unchecked everytime I go back in there?  Is IBM Java VM somehow not saving the fact that I want those boxes checked?  It saves the proxy information no prob, but not the fact that the checkboxes are selected?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

It's me again, posting from Opera Mini! After a couple resets it's now working for me.  Turns out that those Use Global Preferences checkboxes seem to be in effect after all even though the screen does not display them as being checked.  But I definitely do have to check 'em for Opera to work.

Diggin' it so far.  I like the way it displys sites' fave.ico images - MTDN's looks pretty good even on my 600.

Kudos on this find, Christine Smiley

Has anyone uncovered a fix for having Kmaps and Opera Mini play nice together? Or am I the only one that seems to have this problem?

I am using both pretty flawlessly.  I saw the error you described earlier in the thread but I am not experiencing the same thing.  I'm on a 600 - not sure if that has anything to do with anything but hopefully someone with similar issue may be able to shed some light on the issue.

I'm usin both just fine as well - don't see n e where they overlap (aside from the fact they both use java).  What problem eggsactlee are you having (didnt notice your other posts about it)?

I got a reset running Opera. #*377 says it happened while running "J9 Java Launcher" and that it was "MemoryMgr.c, Line 2659, Chunk overlocked".

I guess it's a memory issue. Anyone with more java experience than me who knows if this is a normal Java crash or if it's Opera?

I'm experimenting. When I toggle between the HiFi and LoFi versions of Opera I loose my bookmarks etc. Anyone know where they may be stored?

I was getting this error almost everytime I used opera mini hifi and browsed about 10 pages.  I now use rescolocker to lock the java dbcache in and haven't had it again (2 days later).  It is a truckload of cache to use, something like 1000k but I will trade it for the speed of opera!

On a sidenote:
I HATE THE NVFS FILE SYSTEM I never lost all my data with my 600 and now I just have to deal with all these problems so I WON"T lose all my data.  Brilliant

It's super exciting.  Opera Mini is a super rudimentary browser -- not being able to change the start page and the giant freaking banner at the top of the screen kind of suck, but it's hard to beat the price on this right now.

idea I discovered that pressing the blue option key then the star key on my Treo 600 will give you three screen viewing area options.
1. Top & Bottom Title bar.
2. Top Title bar only.
3. No Title bars.   Smiley

Correction: Just pressing the star key alone will do this.
