Hello bdh18, This is Kevin from Palm. You might try the Palm Knowledge Library article 'OLERR: (number)' errors in HotSync Log. There are a number of possible solutions offered there. Sincerely Kevin

Thanks for that info. Maybe you can help me w/ this as well...if you dont mind;
I have "Biz Con" from Sprint. For sme reason suddenly everytime i go into it when I try to leave it my 650 crashes EVERY time and when I do a ##377 it says its due to a "Fatal Exception". I tried deleting it and re-downloading it, but it does it just the same.
Any advise would be great...thanks a lot

Yes, sorry bdh18, Sprint Business Connection is beyond my realm as well as Palm's, as it is third-party software. Sprint Support may be your best bet. In general, Fatal Exceptions can be caused by a number of things, but in your case, it could be a conflict between third-party apps - possibly something you installed recently. There's more on this in the Palm Knowledge Library article Fatal errors, their causes and how to prevent them. Sincerely Kevin

Thanks Kevin... I tried everything on that list RE Hot Syncs (Except the one where you "Batch"its a bit involved, and I'm not sure its worth it. I have a Calendar that goes back to 2000. And yes, I triesd to purge a few years of records and then Hot Sync, but that didnt help. I cant purge too much, because I often have to check when I did things fairly long ago) and nothing worked It looks like I may just have to skip tasks,calendar, etc whenever I hotsync???

I imagine you tried the Detect and Repair solution in that list. I had seen others find success with that. Unfortunately, I'll have to bump.
Sincerely Kevin

BTW, I have exactly the same problem (hotsync stuck with calendar and memos) even if I do not use Outlook (it is installed in my PC, but I never used it). No Outlook conduit is active, I just use the Palm Desktop program, but I cannot synch any of my calendar and memo data.
Synching was OK since some time ago, then the problem suddenly appeared. I tried a few of the hints I could find in the forums, and, obviously, I disinstalled/reinstalled several times pieces of software. My calendar dates back a couple of years, or more, and contains many entries I would like to have stored in my PC. So, if anybody can help fixing, I would be very very grateful.
Many thanks in advance. Francesco

bdh18, iIt seems we are both experiencing the same beautiful feature of our smartphone! My one started some one and half month ago. I didn't find any problem in the past period (I got my 650 in March), neither I had any trouble in my previous one and half year life with my old 600. In the meanwhile, besided reinstallation from scartch, I did several hard resets, and I even upgraded twice the fw (1.28 gsm at the moment). Maybe we are obliged either to skip any calendar synch, or to delete all past entries, expired but still important to me. That's a pity, however, to have such a kind of problem in a so advanced (expensive, I mean!) device... Thanks. Francesco

Is your Outlook on-line when you are trying to Hotsync? Mine is_very_ slow when connected to my Exchange server on the LAN - 2 hours to do the initial sync and 10 minutes to do each refresh. Seems the conduit is syncing with the Exchange server not the local copy in Outlook (2002) (judging by the network activity lights). If I disconnect the LAN, and run Outlook in off-line mode, the whole process is done in about a minute.
I've tried Beyond Contacts and Keysuite and they have no such problems, so it must be Palm's conduits at fault. But it is a real pain if I want to do a quick sync before I go off into a meeting!
Anyone had similar, or care to comment?

Kevin is RIGHT ! Hello - just got a Treo 650 and major trouble synch w/ Entourage. 6 hours of effort (18 yr. mac user) and nothing. Just picked up in this community about "dbscan" and it looks like it did the trick. Identified corrupted db on Palm. Download and install and it tells you what files are corrupted. Then it asks if you want to throw out. Then wants you to sync with "Handheld Overwrites Entourage". This scared me so, I noted the files, fixed on Entrourage, then synch with Ent overwirte handheld". It was the Calender that wasn't synching it appears to be working !! I have to go run around the block - I'll be right back. -Now someone named Kevin (from Palm) suggested an article about possible problems and it mentioned Recurring Events which didn't have end date. These were the corrupted files that dbscan picked up. -So - you guys out there saved me (I hope) from a day on the phone with Microsoft and the usual "that's not really our problem, it must be Palm's" Peace

Hi, I would like to make a revival for this thread, just to announce to bdh18 that I finally (and apparently) solved my problems with caendar synching. I followed the directions given in this thread (hope the link is properly working...): http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=90068&highlight=dbscanI did try already in the past dbscan, but with no success. I guess this time I succeeded because I exactly followed one by one the steps mentioned in the thread, i.e., I didn't tap on everything else neither I exchanged the sequence of the various steps. As a result, now I can synch my calendar entries (there is still some problem mentioned in the synch log, but very minor - it says that the total number of entries is slightly different on the desktop and the treo)! I am very happy for that, even though I have still a similar problem with my memo entries, which cannot be synched. However, for memos I can either try again with dbscan, or, better, copy them manually one by one (their number is much smaller than for calendar, obviously) and delete the palm file. I hope this can be of some help. Thanks. Francesco
