Wow, this is great, is a 1 package full of features  yes

i'm sure anyone with a standard GPRS / CDMA1x plan can use it without any problem, and avoid using the usless building network sync feature of the phone.

the best thing is the TimeZone option, as most of us just changed time, or still in the process of that as some other countries haven't yet changed  Smiley

I swap the battery several times a week.  When I do it prompts me to confirm or adjust the date and time.   Sometimes it is within a minute, other times it is not close.  If I could just click an icon on the main screen which would grab the network time and update the device that would be ideal (if it is a stable process).

I have included that option in ScheduleCare.  There is a set button in the General Options screen.

Yes that is correct.  It opens a data connection and queries the time from one of a series of 7 different time servers.

The Treo 650 slows down when scheduled care is enabled while scrolling in the built in launcher.

This was an issue during the beta but has been fixed in the production version of ProfileCare (aka ScheduleCare PII Beta).

Wow.  I didn't even know anyone used the built in launcher any more "it has a built in launcher?"  Either way, there is the solution to that, getting a real launcher, hee hee Wink

My Kyocera 7135 would "freeze" no matter WHAT you were doing when it polled for network time.  If it was "asleep"  it would sometimes take a while to wake up.  It was so bad at times that you could miss a call because of the delay.  This was in fact an issue with the carriers, NOT just with the device itself.  ALL radio devices (PDA's Cell Phones) poll at a regular interval (as well as when you are on a call) to see if you have messages, Voice Mail, and to update the time.  The problem is that more sophisticated devices seem to get bogged down when this occurs, maybe from lotsa stuff going on.  The Treo seems to be the opposite, as I can't get the thing to poll often enough, though I immediately had the clock turned OFF after the kyo experience.  I was advised to return the unit, as it is not supposed to "register" itself on the network once a day as it seemed. I can't wait for the replacement Smiley

Jeff-  I have my phone turn OFF at 8pm or so, and ON at 8am, is there a way to adjust "when" the time get's set?  Methinks if you had your phone on this type of schedule, once a day would be more then enough (i.e. when the phone turns on), unless the clock is THAT far off Sad. For me at leasdt, that would be ideal, since it will never get too far off in one day *knocks on wood*.

first time post. Just had my rom upgraded tre0650-1.13-row (patch for rogers (CA)) since then it would experience crashes as soon as it turned the radio on, or re-entered coverage. It would reset itself, i could force it to stay on by quickly going thru the call log and having it dial voicemail forcing it to stay connected. Since I disabled network time it no longer auto-resets as it turns on the radio. This was an extremely helpfull post.  Thanks everyone. Cheesy

This thread has a lot of useful info in it - but it mainly focuses on the Sprint Treo 650.  I just wanted to confirm, I've taken the following steps:

1. Followed online instructions to clear my cingular branded Firmware and installed v01.28
2. Called Cingular and obtained unlock code for my GSM SIM
3. Did not install any third-party software even the stuff provided by Palm (documents 2 go, etc)
4. Enabled Network Time Sync

My phone would lock up virtually everytime I came into service.  Being in NYC this meant anytime I came up from the subway.  After reading this thread I disabled the network time sync and my phone has worked without a hitch ever sense.  So, if anyone is having this problem I'd just like to confirm that the network time sync with 1.28 seesm to be an issue.

Anyone have any info on a fix for this?

I have the Treo 650 CDMA version with Verizon Wireless. It is a replacement since the previous one I purchased had problems with the date reverting to "4:59pm 1/5/80". The phone would also reboot by itself and whenever I get a text message or voice mail.
I found out the cause of the problem. After I got the new replacement, I installed all the applications that I had previously on the 1st Treo - The new one started to rebooted when I received a new text message. Then I realized that it was one of the applications I had installed. The auto reboot was caused by Ringo Pro (all versions). I love Ringo Pro and the MP3 ringtones but hated the constant rebooting of the phone. I deleted it from the new Treo and so far it has been 2 weeks without problems.

The phone did reboot once during the 2 weeks and it was surfing the Web with the Treo, I got a warning telling me that I had run out of memory, I cleared the cache, freed up some memory and went back surfing the web. After I was connected, the phone rebooted.
After it came back on, the date was automatically updated. It did not change the date back to 1980... (knock on wood)  Grin

I have a verizon with no new roms or voice quality improvements and I tried your program out of curiosity and the fist time I turn the phone function on/off the date had changed but it went from 7/11/05 to 7/11/05. The 2nd time I tried it I got 1/5/80 to 7/11/05! then I tried once more and it went back to the 80s again. Hope this helps.
