I haven't installed the patch or the fix, I've got "Enable Local Network Time" checked, and I'm with Sprint. I've powered up and down numerous times, and experienced several hotsync soft resets.
The # of changes remains 0.
Just more info to mess with you!!
Its looking more and more like this is a problem that was introduced with the Sound Quality ROM. This is the second data point now. Can you try something? Manually set your system time to the wrong time. Make sure you have DisplayTimeChange enabled. Then manually power down and then power up the phone radio. This should show at least one time change in DisplayTimeChange. Jeff

Well I bet you installed the DisplayTimeChange on the SD card? I just tested this and it will not run properly from the card. Don't know why. Perhaps you can not run apps from the card that rely on catching system notifications. When I move the DisplayTimeChange application back to RAM and re-enabled it, the program once again reports the right values. Jeff

Me again. In my case, you were right, had the app on the card, moved it back and tried it again with different results. If you need the data, I'll be glad to post it.....

Sure, just didn't want to kludge up the board unnecessarily. Following your instructions (change time, power down, power up) gave these results: # of changes: 1 initial time: 1/1/12 0:00 first change: 2/10/13 9:50 second change: n/a
then, I went back and reenabled the system time and date and got these results: # of changes: 2 initial time: 2/10/13 9:52 first change: 1/5/88 17:59 second change: 2/10/13 10:53
Since I'm a newbie, I'll leave any intertpretation to y'all professionals.

Is there even any doubt about that? I was under the impression that system events could only be monitored from RAM.
Until now I was assuming that the the 650 architecture allowed for almost all applications to run from RAM or the SD card. Looks like I was wrong. Jeff

First. You should upgrade the DisplayTimeChange application. I posted a new version that cleans up the display of the dates. I was not "masking" my variables correctly and that's why you see strnage dates displayed. The new vewrsion of the application is v1.1. Second are you running the ROM or Roaming updates? Jeff

Okay...it took a little bit to get the results, but here they are: # of changes: 2 Initial time: 2/10/05 10:20 First change: 1/5/80 17:59 Second change: 2/10/05 11:20 Had to install the app twice, first time cause a soft-reset for some reason. Mark

Mine didn't work the first two times either. Finally did what I did before, moved it to the SD card and then back...then it started working. I don't see how y'all figure this stuff out....amazing!

Well just remember the program is only a quick hack to show the problem exists. It is *not* a production level application. Just a fun thing to prove (and verify) the problem and to show what dates are being set. Jeff
