upgrading from a 650 to a 755P

I currently have a 650 and I just bought a 755P.
Before I call Sprint to switch over the phones, is it safe to sync my palm desktop from the 650 to the 755P?
if not, what is the proper way to migrate to the new phone?

only one thing before you hotsync
move the folder "backup" from your palm profile folder to your desktop
Switch all of your conduits to PC overwrites handheld (do not click set as default)
then hotsync
choose the same hotsync name
all your pim data will be written
next
open the folder you moved to the desktop and double click each of your 3rd party programs (not everything in the folder just your programs and the pdb files that go with them), this will place them in the quick install for the new device and you can sync them back on.

I'm up and running and other than having to redo my favorite buttons and ringtones everything transfered fine.
I'm sure that there are better phones out there but these do everything I need and then some.

When I switch phones I just use NVBackup and restore on the new phone. That way every one of my settings gets carried over like ringtones and stuff. Seems much more efficient.
