Okay so I uploaded a video onto my centro that is only around 8 minutes long, and every time I try to play it, it is so slow that it's practically unwatchable. It is an MPG4 file which I'm pretty sure is compressed for the Centro and everything. Any ideas on how to make playback faster?
Thanks.

Mobile devies always struggle to play media files. Usually they handle 3G2 the best. Try converting it to 3G2 and see if that helps.

Make sure it's encoded for the centro, e.g. low bit rate audio, no resolution above 320x320. I encoded loads of dvds and watched them on my 680 without any problems.

For help encoding files look for our frontpage guides on video on Treos.

Or seemingly obvious question: what app are you using for playback? Built-in? TCPMP? MMPlayer? CorePlayer? Kinoma? Higher-end players have better success playing files not necessarily optimized for a mobile device, so you can consider conversions like sbfast and robin suggested, or get a better media player.
