Hi All,

I'd appreciate some help with my 1 year old Centro.  It seems to be stuck in charging mode.  The pda locked up while charging a few days back, and now the red LED is always on, and the charging icon is always visible.  I've tried soft and hard resets, as well as butler and a few other apps that can reset the LED.  No matter what, it stays on.  I've also noticed that when the phone is starting up, it beeps right away like when you plug in the charger.  Actually plugging in the charger does not cause it to beep, and there is never any beep when the charger is disconnected.  This leads me to believe it is stuck in charging mode.

I know others have seen this.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance!

there are a couple reasons this may happen
1) dirt in the charging port: try to use some canned air and blow it into the port.  do not use breath air as it has moisture, canned air does not.
2) software issue: back your device up to sd card and do a hard reset.  if light still is on than it's either 1 or 3
3) hardware issue. not much you can do but either ignore it or replace the phone.

Thanks for the replies.  My problem started happening the first time I plugged in my new Palm GPS split charger for the car.  I"m wondering if there is a common theme here?  Maybe an inconsistancy with the voltage of the car charger or something.

MiDoJo, I've already tried 2, but will give 1 a shot.  I fear, though, that the issue is going to end up being fully number 3. Sad
