I am looking on decalgirl.com for decals for the centro for att. anyone have any experience with this company specifically and put on decals on your centro?
other issue is how they say they will provide a wallpaper for a seemless design on the front.
well here is the fundamental problem that i just figured out, on the centro, the bottom section of the screen is taken up by Tabs and is not fully usable for wallpaper, which would in effect, 'break', the design.
anyone know how to get rid of the tabs, let me know, but as far as i know the tabs are necessary to switch between actions.

The tabs are a GSM-specific thing. The only way to get rid of them is to use a third party phone app, such as TakePhone.

There's also lots of launchers you can use the wallpaper in, too.
As for decalgirl, I used one when I had my Centro & loved it. Do a search here, you should be able to track down more info & pics. Easy to re-position & never fades or peels. Looks great, very quality product.

gsm specific thing? how do you mean. also, i don't see anywhere in takephone where the tabs are gone. i've searched all the takephone google pages and im not going to drop $10 on an app that may or may not do it. plus why should i have to be able to skin the dang palm with decalgirl decals.
i think it is very misleading for them to make you think that your phone will look like any of the designs that they show with the wallpaper.
nowhere do they disclaim that one needs a hacked phone to do so, nor any other special software.
is anyone with me on this? it's the only thing making me not buy these things, and i want it for my other treos as well but it looks like a nogo if there is no seemless solution.
VERY misleading. and no disclaimers. kind of a fraud in a way. it really is false advertising.

They use a CDMA Centro in the pictures on their site, and the CDMA Centro has a slightly different phone app which uses favorites buttons instead of tabs. Not really false advertising, as there is a break in the design on their product pictures from the two favorites rows...

Umm.. I think you need to do a bit more research on what exactly TAKEphONE does. There's millions of ways you can set it up to display, and it has nothing to do with the tabs in your Phone app. There's a 30-day tull-featured free trial, please download it and try it for a month and see how you like it. i think it is very misleading for them to make you think that your phone will look like any of the designs that they show with the wallpaper.
Here's what Robin is talking about: GSM on the left, CDMA on the right. All depends on your carrier. nowhere do they disclaim that one needs a hacked phone to do so, nor any other special software.
No, no 'hacking' involved. This operating system was designed to allow installing of any .prc file you wish, many of which are free. is anyone with me on this? it's the only thing making me not buy these things, and i want it for my other treos as well but it looks like a nogo if there is no seemless solution.

They very clearly show the wallpapers displaying within the phone app, only. Nothing misleading about it at all. To be honest, most CDMA users would kill to have the tab setup, it looks way nicer than our ugly little favorites buttons.

Oh I see why Poster doesn't think the Tabs are gone from Takephone. OP sees the Ibar in the Takephone pics. ibar is optional and I've even made a Transparent Ibar skin for Takephone

Ah, well in that case, here's some other examples of all TAKEphONE can do: With Midojo's tabless skin, the ibar turned off, SMS/email line hidden, and a transparent clock, you can really let the wallpaper shine through, as you can see in my first example. Great app, hope you give it a try!

You may have a similar option on your GSM phone to hide the tabs, but I have no clue for sure since I've never used one. As for launching Phone, Calendar, etc.. you use the launcher ('home' button) to launch everything... those favorites are just that: user-programmable quick-access apps; not the entire app collection.

ahhh..thanks. so whoever said that the design is broken cuz the 2 lines, is in fact not true really, if you have the option as you stated with the centro and treo. for that matter, does decalgirl provide the full wallpaper assuming you hide those buttons, or the pixel dimensions as shown, with the buttons? maybe moot because i don't have sprint, and i cannot see how to do it with my centro or treo with att.

Decalgirl's wallpapers are 320x320 pixels, the exact size of the screen. That way it works in all wallpaper-able apps. When the buttons are displayed it's over top of that part of the wallpaper.

ahhh..thanks. so whoever said that the design is broken cuz the 2 lines, is in fact not true I mentioned that the picture on their site shows it as being broken to show that it wasn't false advertising, but I wouldn't expect an accessory manufacturer like them to be able to accommodate for all the little differences in devices...
