How do we update firmware/OS?

I really am confused on this one. I actually even hard reset my Treo 650 but I still keep getting restarts almost everytime I send a sms (on a totally fresh device without any data whatsoever). I think it must be a firmware issue. My Firmware mentions 01.30 and Software as Treo650-1.13-APR. Are there any latest version/updates on this? And if there is, where do we get them and how is it installed?

One more thing is, when I hard reset I went to #*377 and found the error log containing info about the reset which happened before I had 'hard reset' the device. Which means the device still had traces of what happened prior to the 'hard reset'. Does that mean to erase all data (including memory and log, restoring firmware and OS back to normal) there is something more powerful than a 'hard reset'?
