When I plug my phone in it will work and will supposedly be charging the battery, but as soon as I remove it from the power cord it goes dark and turns off. Battery issue or is it dead?

Have you tried a hard reset? If that doesn't help, then it's the battery. I see that you have a Treo 755p. The battery is slightly different in thickness, but the connectors are the same. See if you can get it work in the 700wx.

I tried the hard reset already.Thank you for your suggestion I put the battery in from my 755p but unfortunately it did nothing. The 700 wx only works when plugged in. Yet if I have it plugged in without the battery in it says it will power off in 30 seconds unless I charge the battery... Very odd... is it a brick?

I tried it with the battery from the 755p . I also posted a reply on the post. I think I accidentally replied to myself instead of you... Sorry about that.. still getting used to this forum.

Did you get the 755p's battery to touch the 700wx's battery terminals? The size is a bit different so I don't know if it will work. If the battery did indeed go in there correctly and it still does the same thing, I'm suspecting a hardware issue. It could be a dirty battery or power connector...

I did try. I think I will trade it with the seller I bought it from for a working model... Thank you for your help. I will give you a KUDOS when I am at my PC. My Treo won't let me do  KUDOs for some reason...
