So, decided to take the plunge for the umtEnth time and try this opera mini. goTa say, I've always liked it, just tO buggy. Also, java is too large to have put it on my old 650. Just wans't woth it!
I've got the centro with double the memory, though not the dbcache(sucks)
anyways, thought i'd chime in ans bring up the files u need for uploading capabilities...
I installed 3 files from the jsr75 folder in the java zip. it adds another option in prefs.
not really sure if you need all 3?

You only need the 2 files specified here:

those two files are for the java runtime.
there are files you need to enable uploading.
in the jsr75 (or whatever) folder. I couldn't upload until I installed the 3 files from that folder also. read: in conjunction to the 2 files u mentioned and the one file for data connection confirmation

After following the instructions posted above, I still lacked the ability to upload files. So, after some reading I found:

in the folder

PalmOS JVM 5.7/JSR75/

are 3 files:
-File connect.prc
-pimop.prc
-PIMPrefs.prc

after installing these 3 files there is a new prefs panel and I can upload files! I was quite impressed!

Sorry, didn't read your post carefully enough so I didn't realize you were interested in uploading even though you mentioned it.  I'll update my post.

Does anyone else think it's kinda lame that Metaview is trying to make money integrating an unstable app? I'd think it's great if it were free, but I'm not paying for something that's actually going to make my experience worse by automatically launching me into a freezy-death-trap.  If he fixed the freezes, heck yes, I'd pay double.  But for now, no

yeah, no way I'm paying for that...
it was cool to be given the option screen for which browser to open the link in.  But the fact that you can't really directly open Blazer sucks...
I don't know how much he's charging, but I would only buy it if he didn't use blazers creator ID. The "cut & paste"(and I use that term loosly) sucks too!

it's 90% better the way I have it set up right now. might crash once a day...

Last I knew it was $5.

& I'm with you, I'm happier with the way I've got it: if I feel like monkeying around with Opera Mini (or if I find a site that Blazer can't handle), then I'll launch it myself.  Other than that, Blazer's my go-to man for dependable productivity.

I also remember when I deleted OperaFrontEnd it also deleted my Blazer's settings, bookmarks, & phwelo.mobi skin.  Not sure if there's a workaround, but I know I un-checked everything in the app before I deleted it.  I think it's something to do with the creatorID 'sharing' method, when it is deleted, the OS assumes all the Blazer files are related to OFE & deletes them, too.  I guess maybe it can be properly disposed of via FileZ?

Is there anyway to change the color of Opera Mini? I love the browser but the red skin doesnt go with the rest of my phone color (black). And is there anyway to make Opera Mini my default browser? When I go to Default Apps in my Prefs the only option for a Browser is Blazer.

Use OperaFrontEnd for that.

I thought OFE was like $2 - that was why I bought it, justo support Henk cause he's a good developer.

To note, I've never had an OFE-caused freeze. Henk is still around tho, so let him know if there's something he needs to fix (which reminds me... he owes me an update I had forgotten to remind him bout too - time to email...)

As far as it deleting ereything Blazer related, this is much x-plained in the readme and on the download pages - it's like some of phwelo's stuff and has to be deleted manually and the reset (again, all of that is x-plained).

As far as changing the OM color, this unfortunately was taken out of the 4.1 betas and then put back in in the 4.2 versions. So you can try 4.2 and face the increased freezes if you want colors back (which I did for a while), or stick with 4.1 and have much fewer freezes but no color skin changes.

Thanks, finally got around to trying this out- works great!

Too bad the files don't work globally for all Java apps.  Twim still gives an error message when trying to search files.

EDIT: The problem was on Twim's end; now that they've updated to v1.15 I can browse & upload images just fine Grin
