Cloud 9 Baby!

« on: 29 June 2009, 09:42:30 »

I noticed from day 1 that I only had 1 to 2 bars of service at home.  It never really seemed to affect my service because I rarely use the phone at home and I use WiFi for data.  However, today I called Sprint customer service on another matter and the call got dropped 3 times in a row.  3 customer service reps and a manager later and Sprint is now overnighting me a free Airave.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Sprint AIRAVE is a device that creates a CDMA signal for your mobile phone comparable to a cell tower. AIRAVE provides enhanced and reliable mobile phone coverage in your house or office even if your existing wireless coverage is poor.

Sprint AIRAVE utilizes existing broadband data service to carry your mobile calls over the internet similar to voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The best thing is that AIRAVE works with any Sprint CDMA phone.

You can make or receive calls from home with any Sprint CDMA phone. When you leave home, your calls are automatically transferred to the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network.

Sprint AIRAVE works with your existing DSL/Cable modem service and increases your home voice coverage

Key Features
Works with any Sprint phone — up to three users at the same time.

Installs in minutes with your existing broadband Internet access, such as DSL, cable or T1.

Unlimited incoming and outgoing calls, including nationwide long distance, when using your Sprint phone and initiating your call on the device (requires an AIRAVE unlimited calling plan).

Automatically transfers calls to the Sprint Nationwide Network once you leave your home or office.
Limit access to your AIRAVE by creating a list of up to 50 approved Sprint phone numbers.

Pricing:
Sprint AIRAVE Base Station - $99.99/each (requires activation at time of purchase and subscription to an AIRAVE plan. Excludes taxes.)

AIRAVE Enhanced Coverage Charge - $4.99/mo. (required per AIRAVE unit)

Single Line Unlimited Calling Plan (optional) - $10/mo. per account

Multi-Line (multiple phones sharing minutes on one account) Unlimited Calling Plan (optional) - $20/mo. per account

The Airave arrived the next day as promised.  Pretty much plug n play.  Works like a charm.

I'm right here...  Wink  I have long given up on MDJ's ability to communicate in light of his current tib-fib predicament... I am definitely going to speak to Sprint about the AIRWAVE, and it best be free... Thank you Jim darling, now I don't have to exact revenge on you for throwing me under the bus in an earlier thread... (watches everyone go find it)  Roll Eyes

Uggh, after I beef up from my Advanced Weight Training course this semester (I am going to bribe the Professor to let me do Cardio)  Roll Eyes I am making an additional trip while in Philly to DD's house to whoop his tail...mind you it will be in Wii Fitness LOL... yes

Day Two: 21 Sprint Representatives later (this includes 4 Managers-the first one was a POTAL TRICK) my Airave is on its way at zero charge, and I was credited 40 minutes on my account...I will probably switch to Verizon when I'm a Resident-based on this experience alone...  argue DRAMA!

Hey.....

I just want freakin pics of the bus thing. I really, really, really, really love a lot of blood guts and gore.

Did I ever tell you guys about a roll over accident a few years ago on I-59 near Birmingham. Well the lady got tossed out and the car rolled over on the top half of her body. It was a real mess.

Remember,  idea  wear your seat belts, although I don't think seat belts are needed, or even helpfull for the under the bus thing. I just want freakin pics, please......

PS, New York does this kind of stuff to me  yes

I'm glad your perseverance paid off.  It's nice having 5 bars all the time at home.
