Basically: how? This page is sort of a first attempt at doing images in the FAQ (as it was kind of requested in this thread). Including inline images by simply giving a url seems to work, but the {{url}} tags don't. I'm not sure that we need that functionality, but hey! what the heck. More importantly, though, is what we should be doing about hosting. Right now the Buzz Fix images are hosted on my own server (which isn't a problem, or anything), but that doesn't seem like any sort of an ideal solution. Do we still have an image gallery here? If we do, should we be using that to host images for the Wiki? @Chris: You wanted us to get images into the FAQs, especially screenshots. (I think that's what you wrote, anyway.) Can you give us some more direction on that at this time?

Here's the action to use: {{image alt="Tokenwriter opening screen" title="Tokenwriter opening screen" url="images/tokenwriter1.gif" }} The best thing would be to upload images to the gallery. http://mytreo.net/gallery Put them in your own personal gallery until I can figure how to make a public one

Here's the action to use:
Oh, frickin' frickety frick -- I was totally screwing up that syntax. I'm a moron. That's clear direction on the image hosting. I'll move the ones for the Buzz Fix page up to MTdN sometime soon (I've mostly been working here when it's slow at my job, so I guess you could say that the company I work for is something of a tacit corporate sponsor). I'm glad you like the Buzz Fix page. Thanks!

The Wiki can do anything! ...Um, except host images. (The image files are on my own server.)
Correction: The Wiki can do anything. Try this... - on the page you want to upload an image to, insert the {{files}} action.
- Now view the page and you are presented with a little directory list and the option to upload new files
- Once you have uploaded the image you can call it using {{image src="images/WikiPageName/imagename.gif"}}
- Obviously, remove the {{files}} action from the page once you're done

I have enhanced the {{image}} action now to support some more parameters: WIDTH, HEIGHT, and OPENFULL. So now to display a 300x300 thumbnail of a larger image with alt and title properties that when clicked will display the full size-image, you could use this syntax: {{image src="images/PageName/MassiveImage.gif" title="Treo 600" alt="Treo 600" width="300" height="300" openfull="true"}} Is that all just total nonsense?? I know you understand it really, especially you Snerdy! Chris

Excellent! That's a perfect example of Wiki writing right there -- I know nothing, you know something, the Wiki knows everything. Awesome! You like?
It looks good. That sure was fast! I'll play with this stuff later tonight. ...Time to go familiarize myself with a screenshot app.

Awesome! Frickin' awesome!! ...Formatting for lists is kind of annoying (the list has to be consecutive) but that's a pretty minor issue, really.

I added the original drawing that NoBackup did. I like Treo history I can't figure out why it won't center on the page, any idea?

Awesome! I love drawings like that. I can't figure out why it won't center on the page, any idea?
You can get images centered two ways (as far as I can tell). The first way is to include class="center" in your {{blah blah blah}} tag. The second (and easier) way is to use the tag for centering text (which is @@text text text @@) and just put it around your entire {{blah blah blah}} tag. I went ahead and fixed the image you added so that it is centered. I also "escaped" NoBackup's name since it is in the format of a WikiName. (This is one of the reasons I think WikiNames are silly.)

I don't know how to insert pictures in Wiki. I spent two days without any success. I barely managed to upload some pics to gallery. After a while I have succeeded but now I have same pics in public and own gallery. Ones in public gallery can be deleted by the way. So please gentelmans, can you explain me step by step how I can insert pictures to Wiki? Chris, do not start from {{images}} shit because I dont understand what you are talking about

2 days?!! 1) write {{files}} in the page 2) save it 3) look at the page and it gives you a form to upload a file 4) upload your images using the form 5) remove {{files}} from the page 5) use {{image src="images/PageName/imagename.gif" alt="alt text"}} to insert images Have a play in the SandBox
