if you put those color codes(like //STEGREENFONT//) under Preferences > Chat > Display my name in chat window as: , you can change the color of your text independent from your name, or have half of your name one color and the other half another

Dag man - you unleashed my secret! Guess I'll give you a +1 n e way, but yeah - thas eggsactlee what I'm doin too, setting the default to the pink/purple thing so that incoming texts show blue instead, then change the "my name" to whatever color (I had it red jus to look like AIM fo NO REASON). This is better to me than using phwelo's messaging font patches because the patches universally replace the purple/pink font with that color.

Jus wish someone could hack the 31-char limit on that "display name" field tho

With running the risk of sounding like a complete clueless freak,  What are the Alert Icons?
I mean, When do I see them?  Ate they the normal little icons that show at the top left corner when I miss a call or text?

Well, there's a couple things going on here:

1.  That symbol on the upper right that you circled isn't an alert icon, it's the speaker volume, & the volume is set to 4.

2. That program is TAKEphONE, so a custom alert icon will never show up in the upper left corner, since TAKEphONE has it's own alerts that overrides the system alert.

So the question was, What are they? I loaded one from the site but have yet to see it,

And that picture was to just give an idea, Seeing that I can not get a screen shot of something that I can not see a change in.

But I guess a straight answer would be,

Due to me using TakePhone I would not see the Alert Icon that I loaded?

You will not see it in Takephone but you should see it everywhere else. Actually I8 does the same so you won't see it there either. make sure you follow the tutorial exactly and sometimes it takes a couple of soft resets for it to kick in.

I installed the pink phone skin (V2) a couple of weeks ago, but have had resets since.  I'd like to remove it, but can't seem to locate the file using either Filez or Explorer.

Any pointers?  Thanks much!   Cool

If you follow the step-by-step instructions on Phwelo's site you should easily find it.

Well he's got it in the Tutorials section, but there's no link to it on the skins page like most of his other skins have, so I can see how it's easily missed.  I'm sure he'll add it once he reads this.. Wink

I just noticed that Phwelo's blazer icons (I got black safari) make the link at the bottom of espn's mobile page say sprint home instead of verizon home. I think that's amusing but I easily amused.
