Working like a champ.

Biggest benefit for me was that it fixed a Chronic issue where my SD card stopped being recognized.  Cold fix it momentarily (in order to BU etc wih card keeper) but it wasvery limiting.

I do have one issue that might be related.  if VZ Wireless Sync is running and I launch TakePhone it crashes.  so far that is the only downside.  otherwise its much more stable - is there better cache management in the 755 code?

Not that I doubted your Rom file Midojo just that I have been playing with my Centro over the last week and never had the time to try it.  Just did it on my old 700P with great success.  My wife will be happy since I gave it to her.  Roll Eyes She probly won't even notice.  Can you believe she only uses the Treo as a "PHONE".  Kinda defeats the purpose IMO.  Anyway, here's some additional features worth checking out.  I noticed the 755 Rom has A2DP in the bluetooth feature which wasn't on the 700P before.  Just enable bluetoothe and then check the menu for Audio.  Cool stuff.  Like I said my wife won't even know its there.
Everything else seemed to work fine.  Much more snappier.  I loaded my 120 apps and a lot of the lag is gone.  Of course I must now delete them before she gets the phone back before she complains about not having access to her phone.  Anyway I'll report more whenever I can take it away from her to test it further.

Great job Midojo.  KFU for getting this done.  You may want to repost the instructions though since not everyone tried the Kocoman one and the instructions are way more confusing than they need to be.  Since I did it I knew exactly what to do.

Sure  Wink No just kidding I completely Understand as I too have set aside my newly ROM'd Device to learn/get past some of the Centro Differences.  (Sometimes I have no idea how people with hands bigger than mine can use this thing Roll Eyes  )
Anyway so far this ROM seems to be working so I'll go ahead and post the Instructions and the link, later today. I have to write a "readme" to thank to now AWOL Kocoman for the files I used of his and because in the end the only thing I've done is change his package in small ways so It really still his HACK.  (However as he's gone iPhone and has stopped taking any PMs anywhere (including Shadowmite?) . . . and he wrote some cryptic message that I just tried to find on Shadowmite that he was working on something else and couldn't be bothered with Palm Stuff at this point
EDIT: I FOUND THE LINK IT'S AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS THREAD FROM FEBRUARY.
 Boy "Hackers"  are grumpy laugh

Grudgi,  did you have to run the CDMA Updater or should I remove it from the package as to not confuse people.

I didn't need to run the CDMA updater, *228 worked just fine Smiley

I think my wireless synch/TKPone issue was due to some corruption resulting from aborting the initial synch.  I ended up having to hard reset and rebuild but everything working like a champ now.

Overall much snappier, more stable, and I'm not going back.

Just restoring all my apps from a backup ended up with some problems eventually resulting in a reset loop that even safeguard could not fix.  I would recommend fresh installs with selective restores of data etc.

Andy, When you restore Make SURE NOT TO RESTORE The Following Files
CarrierProfiles2
ConnectionMGR50DB
NetPrefs
NetworkProfiles2

Also the Bejewled from the 700 won't work on it (sad loss but snappier device that still uses my full sized SD I can live with the loss)
Also Follow the Best Practices in the Knowledgebase as if it was a "new" device.

I have Made this ROM Conversion for educational and Device Stability Purposes.  The Installer Must understand that Palm and Verizon WILL NOT support this Change in ROM
my conversion will be available at RapidShare
EDIT:  you must have the latest firmware installed to your 700 (either 1.10 or 1.11) before doing this firmware.  Thanks to maxstang for the this discovery.

if you need to Change your device back to a 700p from the new 755 ROM please use the Package by Kocoman Called KEEPNOCDMAUpdaterroms

http://rapidshare.com/files/91097381/KEEPNOCDMAUpdaterroms.rar.html

I Do NOT Guarantee that this above referenced file will still exist though it did at the time of this writing.
This Rom update could not have been made without the Help of the Following people
KoComan (Who was the first to port the 755 into a 700p body but only did it for Sprint. Also who provided the needed ventura files used in my Port)
Grack who's Rom tool allowed me to convert the multiple pieces of the 755 ROM update 1.08 into a single file)
PALM the company (though they may have problems) without their encouragement of developers to do all they can with the hardware they make this could never have happened (though probably they don't want us to do it but oh well).
MyTreo.net Who provide all the support that our carriers, Access and Palm do not.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
My two Testers, without whom I'd never have known that this was possible.
Grundgi
BabyWayne
It was a great honor to work with the both of you.

Thank you and don't blame me if this does not work.
MiDoJo

P.s. Palm, Access and VZW please don't sue me I really can't afford it Smiley

How to Use
Hardreset Your Device
On a Blank, Palm Formatted SD Card Copy the ROM and Palm Folders from this Archive.
Insert the card into your 700p
navigate to the Card directory in launcher
Launch RomUpdater
using your QWERTY keyboard type the word ventura and hit enter
Wait. . . Wait. . . Wait. . .Your Device will reset
You should now have a 755 in a 700p body (this can be confirmed by the presence of GoogleMaps and Docs to Go on the ROM)
Your Software should still read as a 700p though (in phone info)

Huggiebear,
Last time I did this update I simply followed Palm instructions for the 1.10 VZW update and that successfully reverted my device.  o if that is what you need to do, you can try that option rather than looking for Kocoman's files.

Follow Midojo's directions above.  I have successfully used his files to upgrade my 700P.  If you are a Sprint customer then you can use Kocoman's.  Search this forum for 700P to 755P and you should find it.  Its about 12-14 pages but the instructions are in the first page.  If VZW, just use this one.  Works like a charm.
