What do you know about Treo 650 GSM and ATT

that one you Might (I am not completely sure) beable to get unlocked and use ATT go phone but I'll let a ATT customer fill in those blanks.

Yes, I purchased a sim card from ATT and it works on their prepaid service.

Now back to the rom update for the 700p   Which of course is cool, too bad I can't get what I want at Verizon.  LOL

I got to finally take the time to try this on my 700p.  It worked without a hitch!  Thanks very much to MiDoJo, Kocoman, those brave souls who took those first steps, and anyone who helped contribute.

My Plantronics 510 actually paired up with my phone and _stayed_ paired the entire commute home.  Hope that continues.  :-)

Stupid question from a noob.... why do you have to use a CLEAN SD card?  It cannot have anything on it at all?  Will it screw things up if my card has my NVBackup on it and I try to do the conversion?  Also, do you have to re-register your phone after the conversion.  I've seen reference to *228 in a few posts - IIRC, this is done when you first get the phone to register it.

*228 2 will update your PRL
Clean SD card is because (i think  ) of ROM size, but update might also erase SD Card (I can't remember/never did it not on a clean card). . . best practice is to copy contents of card (NVBackup and pics and stuff) to computer when/before adding ROM

And....the next time you hotsync after the conversion, does the handheld overwrite the computer, do they sync...?  I guess what I mean is, do the hotsync options need to be changed (ie. handheld overwrites computer, etc.)?

the Computer will see the hard reset phone and say "hey, what Hotsync user are you? Are you Drsimpson?" and you say yes and it'll overwrite the phone, but if you wish to be safe, set the conduits to one time computer overwrites handheld.
or
restore the NVBackup and sync as usual.

To note, I've personally NEVER used a "clean SD card" for n e updates. Things like that are mostly about just erring on the side of caution; but the PALM root directory also must be clear with only the firmware files, so you do have to move/rename that folder first.
