I understand the warning and I have an two 700P's. I was going to try one and see if it works before doing the other (kind of as a test and not worried about what happens to the first). That being said, the success rate seems pretty high. It's not that difficult is it? You just save files to an SD card and, following the directions, put the card in.
My other question is, does it really make the performance better? I just want the darn device to run smoother and quit freezing for 30 seconds or so...which it does fairly often.

All I did was Take Kocoman's Idea and use the Verizon Firmware instead of the Sprint Firmware. I installed in on a Never used 700P with no Phone connection, but those who are using it with a phone connection seem to be fine with it.

Thanks so much. I'm going to try it in the next few days and will report back with any questions/problems (I'm sure I'll have at least some questions). Thanks for your help.

I did the update from 700 to 755, but the phone did not automically reset. Instead, after typing ventura and waiting through the install, the bottom line reads, "Success: Please Hard Reset the device." Is this normal?

Hi zengOf, The first thing you'll need to do is roll it BACk to a VZW 700 per this postThen follow the Directions in My post on the second page of this thread.

I tried as you say on page 1. KeepNOCDMA will only roll you back, you need to use my package, which is linked in the Rapidshare link on the page I linked to above (reply #22 on this thread)

I have download the newest 755P rom it should be updated in sd card . but can't be used on my 700p . I thought that it can be changed to the form as ventura-bl ventura-bl.md5 ventura-ipl-dvt ventura-ipl-dvt.md5 ventura-rom.zip ventura-rom.zip.md5 ventura-spl ventura-spl.md5
Did you translate it ?

????????????????????????????? No my package IS the latest Verizon ROM for the 755 Just download my package, (as I've already referenced) and read the Read me On a blank card Place BOTH the Rom Folder and the Palm folder and follow the directions on the readme There is no translating and you CANNOT use the 755 Rom from The Palm or Verizon sites. Look I worked hards on this it's not something that you can just "Make a rom" it involved a lot of mucking around that Kocoman had done with the Sprint Version. It involved using programs and is basically tricking the device into thinking you are giving it a new 700P firmware. Read the entire thread and the Original thread by Kocoman (referenced in my very first post)

Well, I certainly thank you and Kocoman! It is definitely something I couldn't do. I haven't decided whether or not to use this yet, but I've dl'd and will read up. I'm having trouble with bluetooth more than anything else on the 700p. I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to messing with the rom, however, I've done a few minor things.
My treo that I just purchased used is still on 1.06, and the guy said he didn't like it too buggy. After researching it I know why! Thanks again.
