Bluetooth and Hot Sync Issues

I have a Motorola T505 Bluetooth device in my car which I love. Don't like wearing those models for the ear. Anyway, everytime I Hot Sync, it ruins the synciing of my bluetooth. I've noticed that if I re-download the updated software (Palm came out with it a couple of years ago to deal with this situation) it works again. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
