I have a treo 755 and would like to add the above to it.  it refers to palm os garnet.  yet says it is compatible with 755's  what is garnet, do I need to install it before running the java app?

Your 755 runs garnet (that is another name for the version of your Palm operating system). You can install java on your 755. You can find it in the downloads section.

thanks I have downloaded it but when I unzipp there is no exec file.  so how do I bring it into the fold.

nix last reply got it installed, too many things going on at once.  now when a java applet is needed on a web page it will download and run?

No. The java websphere on your Palm is not meant to run java applets from the web. It is only for a limited number of programs and games for your Palm.

thanks for the info.  then another question.  some sites when I access on the internet ask for apps to run parts of them  is this just tough nogies for a treo and not to worry about running them?

Install a file manager such as the excellent freeware program filez (it's in our download area) and use it to locate the missing file.

I downloaded the java websphere and couldn't find it, so I dowloaded filez and found it, but I still can't open it or do anything with it.  Help.

If you've downloaded the .zip file onto your Treo I'd suggest that you delete it. Then download the .zip file to a PC -> unzip it -> read the instructions contained in the documentation folder -> follow the instructions.

You could install unzip software like handzipper lite on the Treo and use that, but to be honest I'd only use that for easy software where the zip just contained the .prc file. Given that the instructions are over 20 pages long I'd recommend you unzip it all on the PC and see what you need to do.
