Chatter sends same email "multiple" times, help?

I'm using a Palm Centro and I have a very strange problem with my chatter email program. I set up an IMAP acct and my SMTP settings are correct, but when I send out an email, the recipient receives the same email multiple times. The settings I have are the following:

Server: smtp.exchange.mail2web.com
Login name: name@mail2web.com (in order to authenticate)
Password: "private"
Ret'n Addr: name@mail2web.com (same as login name) Full name: Chester Vargas
BCC: "none", Reply-to: "none"
Signature: Chester Vargas
All boxes (SSL, TLS, NO Auth, Plain, & Hello) are unchecked.
Box default: checked.

I do not know what I'm doing wrong, but everytime I send an email to a recipient, chatter sends it multiple times (sometimes up to 5 times the same, same email)

Can anyone help?

You don't suppose it's a function of using mail2web? It's doubtful that the client side is sending things out twice.

Have you tried another server?

that's the only outgoing server mail2web provides to me as a paid IMAP srvcs Alli, I supposed it could be a server issue b/c othertimes email its only sent once. I will keep checking how emails are received on the other end, thx you.

Another thing you might want to check is if the 'Upload sent items to...' on the 'Other' tab of the account settings is set.  Neither Gmail nor my other IMAP provider require this, but perhaps with yours uploading an item to Sent Items triggers further sends independently of SMTP.  I kind of doubt it, but it doesn't hurt to try clearing that if it's set and seeing what happens.

Edit:  Oh geez, just realized how old the post is that I replied to.  Guess I haven't checked this forum in a while...
