Yesterday my 755P stopped recognizing my Kingston 4g card (dismounted somehow). I put both card keeper and safeguard on the phone but it wont take the card. It shows no card present and does not make the beep when card is inserted. What do I do to fix this? Huh?

If you put the card in a card reader, is it recognized? Have you checked to make sure it's not the card itself?

And please don't cross-post.

I need to find someone with card reader to test card or someone with phone. It was working for the last 6 months since I got it.

Do you have a current backup available of the device? If so, on my 2 Centros (once on mine and twice on the wife's) and on my 700P (twice), a hard reset was all that was needed to get the card recognized again.

Sometimes the cards go bad. I would find a card reader to test it on ASAP.

I found my SD 4GB card adapter and my SD 512 MB card from my older phone ( TREO 650 ). The older card is being read in my computers card reader but not the mini SD that went bad in my newer Treo 755p. I can't get at it to format or anything.

Yeah, that's what happened when mine went bad. The one that crapped out was Toshiba. They would not warranty it. The one I bought to replace it is Kingston. I think they have lifetime warranty. But you probably want to double check before purchasing a new one.

Called Kingston today. The are sending me a replacement card. Only thing is that it's a micro SD with adapter not a mini. Will it work or am I going to have to give it to my wife who has a Upstage with the micro card?

If you mean a micro- to mini adapter, it will work. Palm recommends against it out of an abundance of caution. The micro card is held in the adapter only by friction - there's no mechanical latch - so it's possible for the micro card to come loose inside the adapter and then it's disconnected from the phone. (I've had this happen with a microSD inside a Razr phone). Also, there's an extra set of electrical contacts to oxidize and potentially cause problems. Practically speaking, you probably won't have any issues using a micro SD card in a mini adapter, but if you do, Palm doesn't want to get blamed for it.

It isn't as reliable as a miniSD, but it will work. If you're going to use it in your 755p, I would put a small piece of tape on the microSD slot.
